Because it's about the only thing that can knock Foley and Hastert off the news.

1. Oh, good grief. No.
NK has been threatening to do this for a long time. Bush wasn't able to stop them.

3. If he did, it worked quite well.
Nothing would surprise me when it comes to these criminals. Rove promised us an October surprise after all so aside from pulling Osama up from a hole, this could very well qualify.

6. There are limits to the conspiracy theories that I will accept
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 09:59 PM by bluestateguy
There are things that even Karl Rove does not have the power to pull off.

Kim Jong Il is a certifiable nutjob. He is also not in the slightest bit interested in helping Bush, or any other American president.

10. I am not known for believing conspiracy theories at all
But I do think Karl Rove knew about this test and has a campaign in place to take full advantage of it. You think they DIDN'T know Il was going to test this weapon???

7. I don't see how this will help the repukes at all..
It's a reminder the bush administration sat on their collective asses and were more concerned about Iraq than the rest of the world.

9. October Surprise - when did they know??
And why did they wait so long to say anything about it or try to stop it?

If they really DID NOT know N Korea was going to actually TEST a nuclear weapon, then how in the HELL can they say they are the security party?

11. This does NOT play well for the Bushista's....
Democrats must point out that Bush first attacked Afghanistan where the wheel is the pinnacle of high tech in some villages,Then he attacked Iraq who had already suspended it's nuclear program and is now rattling his saber at Iran which is 3 to 9 years away from a bomb. And all the while he neglected North Korea....Have the Republican's truly made us safer on their watch???

12. Doesn't matter. The Rethugs are done.
The kind of toast where the toaster caught on fire and the house burnt down.

It's over. Maybe FEMA will do a better job on them than they did on Katrina.

16. please. it wasnt him, it wasnt rove.
While this may actually help the republicans (though i doubt it. the Dems need to immediately state "if bush hadn't distracted our military in Iraq with the useless war there we would have been able to concentrate on the two countries in the world which are actual threats, Iran and North Korea"

Sheesh. I echo the statement someone once made here in that many here seem to think the Bush Admin are like some gaggle of comic book supervillians.

22. Yeah
sent him a box of Zatarans and a litter of puppies. Should keep that maniac in food for a month or two. Think about it. If Rove knew, the Chinese knew. The Chinese are PO's that NK did this, They know that NK with nukes is just trouble waiting to happen. Think of giving your 16 y/o a Corvette for his birthday. Somethings some people should just not have.
