Kim "I'm too Ill" is a nut case and has lied about events before. They claimed they did a test but the US says they cannot confirm seismic activity? The South Koreans have seismic AND sound technology and they also are not commenting?

This seems weird to me. With all of our technology we can't tell? Yet we can "confirm" all the nuke locations in Iran?

OK...a nuke that is barely detectable? That's not much of a Nuke. And then so what. What could they do with one nuclear bomb? And a small one at that? Other than to show there's absolutely no tactical value for them to have this weapon and even if they do, what real harm can it do?

I'm more concerned about what's going on with the nuke program in Pakistan...a lot of the know-how in this bomb surely has Dr. Khan's name on it.

and one would assume that enough of the military in NK know that to prevent Kim from doing something supremely stupid. What scares me are the lunatics on this side of the pond giving orders to that SSBN from the oval office. I wouldn't call it hand-wringing, but some interest is understandable, don't you think? NK's (non)threat to us isn't really the issue, it's that proliferation of nuclear weapons isn't a good thing, here or abroad. And that testing them can lead to no good. The land becomes toxic for many generations (the craters left at the Nevada Test Site are still wasteland) and I don't even want to think about the groundwater contamination. Then, as if that's not bad enough, sometimes the tests (which naturally means they don't know some of what's going to happen) breach the land, or cause aftershocks that disrupt the environment for months.

The Busholini Regime thought that they could bully NK into giving up their Nuke Program. Instead of reaching an accord with NK the Busholini Regime played the tough guy game. NK and SK wanted a settlement and visitation for their people but the US Govt. strong armed SK into stopping that progress. The US Treasury sanctioned NK via banking. Instead of trying to work with NK everything was done to make them more paranoid and angry. Axis of Evil statement drove NK to get Nukes.
