If Bush had not invaded Iraq, where would the "war on terror" be today? |
|
Would they have captured Osama bin Laden? How many Americans would have died in the war? How many countries would be helping us catch the "terrorists"? Who would be president today?

2. if the bush crime gang wouldn't have invaded Iraq |

they never would have invented the "war on terror" and all countries would be catching "terrorists," just as they always have done.
Kerry.

but then oil would probably be around $30/bbl. instead of $68/bbl. how can domestic oil companies be expected to survive on puny 20% profit growth?? america NEED texaco to have 250% profit growth. if you disagree, why don't you just save the government a lot of trouble and check yourself into gitmo right now, buddy!

5. That thought hit me last night. Bush needed the war. |

Afghanistan had gone too well and was in danger of not being a real war much longer. Catching or killing Bin Laden would have worked against the real aims of the administration. The war on terror wasn't the sexy kind of war that you could dress up and play soldier in. Bush needed the war in Iraq and he got it. 9-11 changed everything but the war in Iraq was his free pass.

bin Laden probably would have died a natural death, few of our people would have died in the war on terror, and all countries would be helping. AND, "The George" would have been relegated back to his playroom to assume the role of commander in chief and spend his remaining days leading his wooden soldiers into combat.

7. A lot more contained and focused |
|
Instead of it becoming a major geopolitical "war" between "us and them" it would have been what it should have been all along. A unified international ongoing police action focised against a dangerous group of fanatics.

9. More funding would have been made available for what really matters |

Securing the borders, cargo inspections, and a functional National Guard in place for more effective domestic security. The Iraq War is pouring money -- correction, pouring borrowed Chinese money -- down a rathole, with nothing to show in the way of improved security except for the bill coming due.
