O.K. how long till marshall law?
We know that we are dealing with the most ruthless administration since Adolph Hitler. In my mind, there is no doubt that they were complicit in 911. These people have NO conscience. They will do anything, including attack our own country to consolidate their power. Do you really think they will allow free elections to usurp their power? They are guilty of too many crimes to let that happen! Can you even imagine a tribunal wherein they have to stand and defend their actions? They will never let it happen.

I predict another "attack" , followed by a declaration of Marshall Law and a suspension of elections until the "war on terra" has ended. Of course, the war will never end.

I'm sorry, I just don't think these evil bastards are going to relinquish power as easily as an election.

Just my take on the whole thing.

Anyone wan't to put up a poll? Before the election or before the swearing in?

18. Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck
But wasn't Marshall Law a Law student? Got a partnership at Dewey, Cheatham and Howe? A distant relative of a whole host of US military heroes--General Nuisance, Major Azzole, Corporal Punishment and Private Partz?

You were lucky that his classmate and frat brother, that pig Heywood Jablowme, didn't try to date you! He roomed with that creepy guy, Bud Tugly--you remember him, he used to date Ophelia Thigh...!

I love goofy stuff like that!!!

50. There are so many things this administration has done
that should have cause an upheaval that never came about. Spying, Torture etc. Sometimes I'm beginning to wonder if anything will get people riled up enough to start even a slight upheaval.

48. Wow Mather AFB on that list sounds scary, forbiddingly closed off to the
public and all, except for this wee fact: it isn't. In fact, it's gone commercial, business park, housing, recreation: http://www.matherfield.com/general-information/index.html

McClellan's also largely gone to commercial use. http://www.mcclellanpark.com/index.html

Sacramento Army Depot now owned by city and has been turned into business park.

Of course since the web site you link to asserts that "Mental hospitals, closed hospitals & nursing homes, closed military bases, wildlife refuges, state prisons, toxic waste dumps, hotels and other areas all have varying degrees of potential for being a detention camp area" which means they view vitually any place as a potential site, I guess they're not too picky about whether the info they put up is actually accurate or plausible. Merely the assertion is enough to "authoritatively" prove that a facility is a detention camp facility. If it has other uses and activities, it's a "disguise" because the site says so.

And why does this friends of liberty site you link to say it's the "voice of the right?" Did you notice that? Apparently the guy who runs the site was a John Bircher. That's the old far right of the right wing. Big on gov't conspiracies, the threat of "one world gov't" etc. decades ago. It's a RW site (not neocon, but the old RW). Even Faux News isn't right wing enough for them. Check out the tribute to "American Patriot" Helen Chenoweth on their LibertyThink site.

4. Dude. You're already living under it.
Bush has long claimed the constitutional power to do what that detainee bill that Congress passed is now giving Congress' stamp to: declare any American to be an enemy combattant and to have no constitutional or civil rights whatsoever, imprisoned at the pleasure of the President through the military forces under his command.

There is no "how long". It's already here, it's just been applied on an individual basis so you and most of the country hasn't noticed.

And the last time I did see that site, the listing

I might have missed it, but is there anything there

22. Martial Law has not been installed yet... I think that vigilence is
needed. Everyday another person wakes up. Its frustrating... but if we are to believe in "man" we need to convey peace and love behind every message. Screaming from the tops of our lungs does nothing. If you wake one person up in a week...then that person will turn and wake another. Its like a good disease. Don't get down, be positive, speak clearly, speak often, and walk with grace. Your actions speak volumes. Don't ever forget love is an action.

9. *sigh* as much as I hate these folks...
To call them "the most ruthless administration since Adolph Hitler." is just the type of nonsense the Freepers and media like to pick out to make us all look like kooks.

Seriously, as bad as Bush and Co are, saying that they are worse and more ruthless than the Khmer Rouge, Maoist China, North Korea, Sudan, Rwanda during the Genocide, Serbia under Milosevic, Saddam, the Pakistani military regime of Yahya Khan and tons of other folks since WWII is something I just can't buy.

Torture is O.K.
Sighning statements excuse the executive and absolve him from all laws.
Habius Corpus is absolved
The executive can declare anything classified.

Read "The rise and fall of the third Reich." What is happening now is a mirror image except Hitler was actually elequent.

30. They are worse than any other government the country has had YES but
That doesn't make them the worse since Hitler. Torture and lack of civil rights certainly were issues in the regimes mentioned too. We can criticize these people for the path we are being taken down without using outrageous hyperbole that makes us no longer taken seriously.

With no Habeas Corpus, no need! Funny how that works. Suspend the Davis-Bacon act and fix the problem with Halliburton making direct sales from the Whitehouse. All legal and easy to do with a docile Congress Dome. Magna Carta done got up and went bye bye.
