How convenient of Kim Jil Il to test a Nuke to divert attention for bu$h
Isn't it just a little too convenient that North Korea, whom we have not worried about all this time because Iran was the threat to set off one of their bombs in the middle of a scandal that is shaking the Republican party right before an election?
Now the media is FIXATED with the North Korea event and any other talk is mute.

October surprise?

One dictator helping one who wants to be a dictator is the way I see this.

How do I know this?

Because Faux Snooze immediately tried to blame it on Clinton.

24. Bush is such a fucking moran. He completely ignored NK
about this. Madeleine Albright was right; all that crazy lunatic in NK wanted was to be made to feel important, not impotent.

3. This is a strategic failure of *'s policy against the Axis of Evil
And everyone in the world knows it.

Although they may need a distraction in the worst way. The value of NK's nuclear as a distraction is much less than it's value as another demonstration of the crumbling weakness of the pillars of the R's campaign.

7. Bu$h could use this to spin the expedited attack on Iran as well
He could spin this around and proclaim that this is the very reason he needs to attack Iran without delay to prevent them from joining the nuclear race.
Maybe it looks bad for bu$h on the face but they will spin this as they have everything we though would be the monumental collapse of the bu$h regime.

Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 07:06 AM by HereSince1628
Whenever a bully is challenged and made to look stupid and weak, the bully must strike out at a readily available victim preferably a weaker one than the one that just punked you.

NK has the bomb. Iran does not. Obviously Iran is the better choice.

5. The media latches on to every little thing and milks it until
the next thing comes, which is usually 2.67 days later.

Plenty of people know of N Korea's intentions.

And N Korea does not want to help Bush. They want us all dead. I fail to see why one nut would play such games with another person he dislikes.

14. c'mon HynoToad; NK doesn't want us dead.
if anything, it's our secretive backroom nasties who want to murder North Korea (plus Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Syria, Iraq and god knows who else; bob woodward probably not long for the world)
they need to get nuclear capable asap, and everybody on earth knows it - bush is a criminal worse the kim jong il, whose crimes are lost in the lying liars' lies...there probably was no 'nuke test';the busheviks set off some damn thing in the hills, and blame the North Koreans for it, just like they blame saddam for 911

8. That's not a conspiracy theory that I will take seriously
There are limits to the conspiracy theories that I will accept. There are things that even Karl Rove does not have the power to pull off. Kim Jong Il is a certifiable nutjob. He is also not in the slightest bit interested in helping Bush, or any other American president. North Korea testing these weapons is a serious and very real situation that deserves our attention

10. We Need To Stop Fearing Bush...
Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 06:46 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
He's not some genius who can turn every negative event into a political advantage. I don't see how he can spin North Korea going nuclear under his watch as a positive event. As far as Iran we are nowhere close to attacking them. Will Bush attack them? Maybe... But not in the next thirty days...

11. Come again? This is a TREMENDOUS Bush* failure...
While he had to go to Iraq to keep us safe from WMD :eyes: and is now making the case he needs to go after Iran to prevent their producing a nuke---neither which were even remotely an imminent threat, North Korea, a dicatatorship that Bush* has ignored and refused to engage HAS a nuke and tests it right on Bush* watch. This is horrendous for the neocons.. They (and their lying justification for their actions) are naked and exposed...

Spin as they will try, even the most ignorant Americans are going to question the incredible paradox...

12. This is a DISASTER for this administration
and I sincerely doubt they're going to spin their way out of it.

Their inattention to important foreign policy and their refusal to continue ANY policy started by a Democrat while they've been off chasing rainbows in Iraq are obvious to most people by now.

The good puppy media will undoubtedly play this for all it's worth, but people are funny about sex scandals. They're not going to let it all get swept under the Congressional carpet.

17. .
I don't believe that North Korea would do anything to help Bush. This isn't good news.
But we know this Administration. Until now, they could turn every failure that happened on their watch into an advantage for themselves.
So it might play into their hands to scare the masses or accuse the Dems of being too weak on national security.

21. Just another world fruit cake saying "Pay attention to me".
I think this was a phony explosion anyway. If it was really only 500 tons it is worthless as a strategic bomb and may have just been 20 truckloads of TNT in a cave.

22. It's all up to the MSM
The Rove/Bush playbook has one achilles heal -- the media. Without the media playing along, they're toast. It's been that way from the beginning of this dreadful nightmare.

Will this be "spun" into a positive for Bush? Bush/Rove will try to do exactly that. But only if the media plays along as they have so many times in the past will it work.

Given the way the media hasn't let them off on the sex-predator story, I'm cautiously optimistic that the press won't play along this time.

23. Chalk this up as another chimp failure.
He refused to engage North Korea - included them in his axis of evil and even called il jong a pygmy. Now il jong has nukes. What's a chimp to do?

No matter how you look at this, it is not good for bushco. What's lil tough guy gonna do about it?
