Did Kim Jong-il Punk Bush?
Didn't Bush say he wouldn't "tolerate a nuclear armed North Korea"?

8. actually, they're howling successes
i recall being mystified by the vietnam war 40 plus years ago - why would such a big powerful society like ours attack a little 3rd world country which had barely thrown off the colonialism of france? especially when few people knew where 'nam was. there was a logic to it however, but it was not explained, not then, and not even now. At root however 40 plus years say that the secretive backroom nasties, the 'permanent government' as lewis lapham calls it, plays a kind of game with the popular mood, like a crack pusher at a playground. He sells cheap to the well to do rich healthy kids, nudge wink, with heavier cost for the average kiddie, then a 'take it or leave it' price for the desperate poor (who then rob the rich kids or the local stores etc to pay them!)...the fact is, the vietnam war effected control of american society, and upon this early control a regular tower of babel has been constructed, at immense public expense. think what could have been had 'liberalism', (not the fake variety represented by joe lieberman or cnn etc, but the real thing) been allowed to develop, with all the mistakes inherent in human efforts? what difference could it have made had Nam become communist? - both viet nam and china are 'commie' today yet WE have less trouble with them in terms of business then with, say egypt which cost billions to keep from drifting into chaos, or israel which cost tens/billions just to maintain! what benefit did it gain us to lose 56 thousand guys in vietnam? had we 'won' the war, what difference would it have made?
The secret government doesn't give a damn about anything but controlling those who have the power -and that's US! there are real crooks in the world, vicious monsters such as we saw in liberia a few years ago (they mimicked the colonialists' trick of cutting off kids arms to force the parents to work) who international law should be used to prosecute, but bushinc fears inteernational law, all law, more then any mindless killer from timbuctoo!....bush wants to destroy the usa as you knew it up til 6 years ago...and they have

9. We threatened them with annihilation.
I believe the cowboy talk was something like 'they can choose to give up their nukes or they can choose to not exist'. The North Koreans, already threatened with shock and awe for being part of a mythical axis of evil, have rightly stated that this is a matter of national self defense. The Bush regime has brought this on themselves with their stupid cowboy posturing, with their all hat no cattle bullshit. We abolished the NPT when we invaded Iraq. Every nation on earth that can possible afford to nuke up is going to do so in order to preserve their national integrity from our imperial ambitions.
