Gay Marriage Legalized in New Jersey - Will This Be The October Surprise?

I'm fairly certain that by October 25 gay marriage will be legalized in New Jersey. The NJ Supreme Court has to deliver a decision by Oct 25th at the latest, and the Court is very pro-gay rights. Conservatives are expecting a defeat.

Is this the October Surprise that's supposed to galvanize conservatives?

We are pursuing equality under the law for same-sex couples, not a separate but (un)equal "gay marriage."
