Then again, his Wikipedia article mentions that he was in the Congressional Page program during the 1958-1959 session which, if the neo-con supposition on how one becomes gay is true.... :rofl:

Interestingly enough, the Wikipedia says that he is NOT the first openly gay Republican to serve in Congress. That title goes to Steve Gunderson of Wisconsin, who served in the House from 1980 to 1996 (the same year, coincidentally, that Kolbe came out.) Gunderson was the one and only Republican to vote against the Defense of Marriage Act. Kolbe voted for DOMA, whereupon he was outed because of the hypocricy of his vote.

3. This mornings Tucson paper

stressed how much interest Kolbe showed the pages. So my first thought about Kolbe's confrontation with Foley was Kolbe saying, "You better back off Foley or you'll blow it for all of us". (Pun intended)
