North Korea: the disaster within the disaster
This is purely about perception, but as a smart person once said, perception is everything.

So North Korea has allegedly tested a nuke.

On the news networks, we have today dozens of talking heads, experts, spinmeisters and assorted dreck talking about the situation. The content of the conversation is one thing, but beyond all that is one word.

Nuclear.

Noo-klee-urr.

Everyone, but everyone talking about this on the TV news pronounces the word like that, i.e properly.

Everyone except one man.

They call him George, and during a moment when a lot of people are nervous about nukes and rogue states, he remains utterly unable to pronounce the word properly.

The world looks for leadership, and they're getting "nukular."

Noo-kyoo-lurr.

I hit on this last May: http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/050506Z.shtml

Yes, it's perception. But after Foley-Abramoff-Iraq-9/11 over the last several days, here was a chance for George to act like a head of state instead of a carnival barker running a tent full of priapic sociopaths.

And he gives us noo-kyoo-lurr, again, surrounded by people who can pronounce the word properly.

In short, he looks dumb.

Again.

3. pre-emptive
one of the various and ever-changing reasons for invading Iraq was to strike the enemy before the enemy strikes us...

North Korea is following the same reasoning. bush told North Korea to be on the alert when he included them in the Axis of Evil, he confirmed his intentions with the invasion of Iraq.

Assume for a moment there was another super power (Call it Newklarania)on the planet and it releases an axis of evil list of it's own - and the United States is on it. We attempt to negotiate, use diplomacy with Newklarania - but Newklarania either refuses to listen while banging war drums at another country on their axis of evil list.

Next Newklarania invades one of the countries on the list.

Do we sit and do nothing - or do we start taking whatever steps we can to deter an invasion?

Kim Il Jong may be crazy, but he ain't stupid.

4. Perception, as in "proliffurashun"...delivered via the MSM propaganda
networks aka "the free press".

Yep, one can only say "something was reported"-the veracity of whatever is reported is truly questionable.

Looks are deceiving, often by design.

"Reality vs. perception management"
