The Democrats are idiots if they don't filibuster

Nobody knows what the Democrats stand for, and here's a chance for them to stand for something important, such as a women's right over her own body. Alito is a terrible choice for Supreme Court justice, and it's the job of our Democratic representatives to represent us, to put principle ahead of politics for once. If they do that, then there's a chance that the American people will start respecting them.

The Democrats should dare the Republicans to try the nuclear option, which I think would backfire on the Republicans. The fact that the American people might disapprove of a filibuster will be easily outweighed in the arguments over Alito that follow. Alito is not just anti-woman, he's anti-worker, and very likely anti-gay, anti-disabled, anti-environment, and in favor of an almight President.

If the Democrats don't filibuster, they risk losing a lot of activists and committed voters.
