$250,000 Reward Offered For Information About Vote Fraud!
Breaking!

$250,000 Reward For Information About Vote Fraud In The November Election

VelvetRevolution and its co-founder Justice Through Music are offering a $250,000 reward for information about vote fraud and manipulation in the upcoming mid-term elections. That’s a quarter million dollars to the persons or persons who provide us with definitive and conclusive proof that a United States House or Senate election has been rigged by illegal means.

The information must result in an overturning of a congressional election and a conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fraud. We want whistelblowers to come forward and to provide us with evidence, documents, tape recordings, and admissions. Send to tips at velvetrevolution.us.

8. Bingo!!! Here's an idea.
Now here's a suggestion:

1. Put up a Web Site with a blog and a database of all critical congressional seats.

2. Enlist the community of Democrats (and any others) to volunteer as:
a) Poll watchers
b) Poll workers
c) Official witnesses
d) Media coordinators
e) Lawyers
f) Exit pollers
g) Vote counters
h) Vote count witnesses

3. Use this data to blanket the critical areas of the country with the necessary checks and balances to protect our votes.

We don't need any political party to sanction this. We can do this on our own.

doing many of these pieces. There is not yet, to my knowledge, a website that refers people to the appropriate groups depending on what they want to do. If you're interested in working with me on this, PM me and we'll talk. I have a lot of info collected about what organization is doing what where. (I hope to be ready to post it very soon.)

Cindy Sheehan calls for massive (after you vote-absentee)
Sit in at the White House November 7th and 8th
"We Want our Country Back and
The Troops Home from Iraq"

http://www.michaelmoore.com/mustread/index.php?id=740
Col. Ann Wright spoke of this in NC recently.

"If the Republicans steal another election, it is time for we the people to stand up (or sit down) to demonstrate that we are finally not taking corrupt and illegitimate elections anymore. We need to surround the White House by the tens of thousands those days.

But equally important, if a miracle occurs and the Democrats take back one or both Houses of Congress, we also need to be out in great numbers to remind them that we will hold them to the same standards of peace with justice that we are about to hold the Republicans to. .....
Come and make history with us by being the checks and balances on our government that are so sorely needed! Or organize sit-ins in your community if you can’t make it to DC. "

28. What happened with RFK jr and the whole Qui Tam suit vs. Diebold?
It's already in the courts. And "Qui Tam" is just a fancy, Latin term for 'whistleblower'.

I'm all for staying focused on 2006, but I hope no one loses sight of what's already been sniffed out, dug up, and brought into the clear light of public scrutiny. ...Otherwise, what's to stop the whole exercise from turning into a bi-annual version of electoral, 2-hand touch? I mean, a sort of pantomime, with no consequences, or any actual effect on the results of any vote (s)election... ("Yeah, we caught you again, you know that we know you S.O.B.'s were up to no good, again, and stole another election... For SHAME!")

Maybe I'm just surprised (and a little disappointed with myself) that I never noticed, until last week, that RFK jr. had a follow-up Rolling Stone article:

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/11717105/robert_f_kennedy_jr__will_the_next_election_be_hacked

I would have expected to have seen some mention of it here, or on Kos, but there must not have been many posts.

And if anybody's passing out cash money to deserving investigators of election fraud, how about sending a few bucks Greg Palast's way? Without his digging into the whole ChoicePoint/K. Harris organized disenfranchisement effort -- and getting his mitts on the internal memos and e-mails that proved it -- the theft of the presidency 2000 might have gone unchallenged, and unquestioned, in the minds of many more individuals. After the 2004 election, he also deserves a lot of credit for pointing out how the 'spoiled ballot' racket (in minority voting districts, by appallingly disproportionate, discriminatory mechanisms) helped to legally (albeit very dubiously) legalize the most recent round of election thefts.

{And while we're at it, let's not forget Max Cleland and Cynthia McKinney. In Georgia, in 2004 and 2006. After Diebold was given free rein to digitize the election process in Georgia, in 2002, no one from the State of Georgia had any control or oversight of any part of the voting process. Is it any surprise that Ms. McKinney recently reported that... "the Fourth District ballot {her district} was on {voters'} computer screen(s) in the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, Cobb County, and Clayton County that we know of. So in eight jurisdictions that were not the Fourth Congressional District, people had the Fourth Congressional District on their computer screen. We are now trying to figure out how it happened, and we expect the Georgia Secretary of State and the various county offices to tell us how that came to be. We haven’t even publicized it yet—well, after this is published, it will be..."

And the Repuke's in Georgia were the ones who had the gall to pass a "picture I.D. voter registration requirement", to prevent "voting irregularities"!!!

57. emlev, why was the term "election fraud",
as shown in VR's original announcement, changed to "vote fraud"? Why cut and paste their entire text, but go back in and change just that? It's been a long battle to educate the public about election fraud vs voter fraud. I don't believe VR would want their statement and their reward mis-represented.

67. "Does Brad have some question about the legitimacy of the reward?"
Interesting question. Bradblog doesn't appear to mention the 'reward' anywhere, and the site does not even link to VR.

A week ago, on Velvet Revolution, BradBlog was a "co-founder" of VR with Justice For Music. Today BB is only "in a cooperative effort with" JFM.

??? Odd.

I stepped into the Wayback Machine
http://web.archive.org/web/20050122062033/http://velvetrevolution.us/
and back in early 2005, VR was billed as a "cooperative effort" of BradBlog, Justice through Music, "and YOU!" -- same as now. I assume Brad still considers himself a cofounder.

Oh, in fact, there's a story presently on the BB main page, dated 10/12, which states, ""

In no way running interference for Brett Kimberlin, just trying to sort out the facts.

69. Perhaps
I was mistaken on the wording on VR site and only put 2 + 2 together:

Brad writes on BradBlog: "DISCLOSURE: The BRAD BLOG is a co-founder of VR."

The reward announcement (OP) states "VelvetRevolution and its co-founder Justice Through Music".

I CANNOT find on BradBlog where it is said, "In no way running interference for Brett Kimberlin, just trying to sort out the facts." If you can point me to it (perhaps a permalink), I'd like to read it.

Sorting out facts would be great.

70. OK, we're together on the two co-founders (I think)
Edited on Sun Oct-15-06 05:00 PM by OnTheOtherHand
BradBlog and Justice Through Music Project are and remain co-founders of VR, but it may be that JTMP took the lead on the reward deal. BradBlog certainly doesn't seem to have much to say about it. (And AFAICT BradBlog has never mentioned Brett Kimberlin's name.)

As for this --
I CANNOT find on BradBlog where it is said, "In no way running interference for Brett Kimberlin, just trying to sort out the facts."

-- no, no, that was me. It's probably pretty obvious that I'm not running interference for Kimberlin: I've already stated my discomfort about a convicted bomber who seems to dance around the circumstances of his conviction. "My case is very convoluted but in essence, I was punished for exercising my First Amendment right to speech." ( http://www.soundthesirens.com/features/kimberlin.htm ) Convoluted, eh? it's OK, Brett, I'll wait for it.

If Mark Singer is right and Kimberlin is a gifted liar, then one shouldn't think too harshly of the people who believe him. Or if Singer is wrong and somehow Kimberlin is entirely innocent, that would be nice to know. But I would not stake a movement's reputation on it.

EDIT TO ADD: ohmigosh, no wonder you were confused. I think I must have done a paste, then somehow hit delete right before I posted the preceding message! See the pair of quotation marks? That "disclosure" -- the same one you quoted -- was supposed to be between the quotation marks. Cue spooky music. ;) Sorry about that.

71. OK, I getcha now.
You appear to be right, that BradBlog is not specifically involved with the "reward" offer.

We could consider the possibility that there is a chance that Kimberlin could be "entirely innocent", or even if not, that he had "turned over a new leaf".

But while a convicted criminal might be offered a "second chance", Kimberlin was convicted of purjury regarding drugs in 1974, convicted of drug dealing and bombings in 1980, violations of parole (drug charges) in 1997, and last released in 2001. Second, third and fourth "chances", and he apparently doesn't currently even admit that he was even tried, let alone convicted, let alone guilty, let alone remorseful.

From his band's site: "Without any trial..." Uhm, we have the name of the federal prosecutor, the federal judge, Kimberlin's reference to the polygraph expert who had been hired by his own lawyer at his trial, tons of links.

After three federal trials, Kimberlin was found guilty in 1981 and sentenced to 50 years in prison. In a 1983 court decision upheld by the Indiana Supreme Court, Kimberlin was ordered to pay $ 1.6 million to the family of Carl DeLong. Brett Kimberlin pleaded guilty to separate federal drug charges in 1997. This was a violation of his parole and he was placed in jail again. http://www.prospectresearch.org/pages/samples/cprwebsamplekimberlinprofile703.pdf

I do wish Brad was "sorting out the facts", as I agree, "I would not stake a movement's reputation on it", but here we are.

A multiply convicted bomber/drug dealer/purjurer, apparent "gifted liar" should cause concern.

72. "seems to dance around the circumstances of his conviction"
Lying by omission? A lie is a lie.

Kimberlin does not "dance around the circumstances of his conviction". He convolutes (bullshits) his revised history so as to entirely, completely ignore them.

In his mind HE is the only victim because he was denied his right to hold a press conference while serving time in prison (for crimes of setting numerous bombs, one in a schoolyard that blew a man's leg and hand off and was judged to have lead to his death and severely injured his wife and terrorized a community).

Poor, poor bomber. Wonder if he's paid any of the $1,600,000 he owes from the civil judgement granted to the bombing victims.

Just the guy to have working with youths today... and unrepentant convicted bomber who detonated a bomb in a high school yard during a football game.

AFAICT he attracted some sympathy for how he was treated in 1988, so he chooses to pretend that it somehow explains what happened in the late 70s -- i.e., that he was convicted as the Speedway bomber.

I have heard the repunks several times refer to VOTE fraud meaning voter fraud which is the supposed reason they are trying to pass legislation such as picture ids and such to supposedly protect us from voter fraud when in actuality it is designed to supress the vote...should be ELECTION FRAUD... scares me to death that people might think it is the voters when it is the counters...the whole freaking election - machines - vote supprssion scares the crap out of me....

34. THIS GUY???!!!!
I was curious about 'Justice Through Music' as co-founder of VR.

The mailing address for Velvet Revolution and Justice Through Music is one same Post Office Box.

Justice Through Music Project's 2005 year-end 990 shows $33,878 on hand at end of accounting year 2005. So might I assume Velvet Revolution's contrubution to the 'Reward' is $225,000 or so?

The Director (and only paid employee) of Justice Through Music is Brett Kimberlin.

Brett Kimberlin, sentenced to fifty years for drug distribution and eight bombings in Indiana... is the infamous "Speedway Bomber". He bragged of smuggling and dealing literally tons of drugs.

Kimberlin was serving time for placing and detonating a series of explosive devices in Sept. 1978 in Speedway, Indiana. In the most serious incident, Kimberlin left a gym bag in the parking lot of the Speedway High School. Carl Delong picked up the bag and the explosives detonated, tearing off his lower right leg and two fingers. Delong's wife also suffered serious injury from bomb fragments. Kimberlin is also serving time for other offenses, including impersonating a federal officer, illegal use of the Department of Defense insignia, illegal use of the Presidential seal, receipt of explosives, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. http://www.ndsn.org/feb95/quayle.html

In fact, after being convicted of the Speedway, Indiana bombings, he sued the widow of one of his bombing victims for "violating his constitutional rights." http://www.mediaresearch.org/mediawatch/1991/watch19911201.asp

Kimberlin is a well known character, after a book was written about him:

Citizen K: The Deeply Weird American Journey of Brett Kimberlin
by Mark Singer

"This book relates a journalist's worst nightmare: of getting deeply involved in a "big story" based on information from a single source who turns out to be a world-class liar."
.....

"Kimberlin turns out to be a top-flight con man."

....
"A book about a true psychopath..."

http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-Deeply-American-Journey-Kimberlin/dp/0679429999

Maybe the bomber, "world class liar", "top-flight con man", dope smuggler, drug dealer has turned over a new leaf (though there are plenty of marijuana links on JTM site).

Is it smart to have our cause tied to a known, convicted bomber?

36. troubling Trouble - this is same guy?
If so, how many of his 50 years did he serve, when did he get out?

The book about him labels him as a psychopath, and there is
no such thing as reforming a psychopath.

They have no conscience.

You can't grow one of those.

Very troubling.

I hope those close to Velvet Revolution will look into this or
shed some light.

The big reward did sound like one of those many emails I get that tells me
I have won something in an "internet lottery".

41. according to this report 1994
NY Times, June 13, 1995

Justices Give New Life to Suit of Quayle's Accuser

Washington, June 12 (AP) - The Supreme Court Today revived, at least
temporarily, a lawsuit against Federal prison officials by a former
inmate who says they improperly confined him to prevent him from
disclosing that he once sold marijuana to former Vice President Quayle.

The Justices ordered a lower court to reconsider a ruling that threw out
the lawsuit by the former inmate, Brett Kimberlin, who argued that he was
wrongly disciplined just before the 1988 election to stifle his
accusation about Mr. Quayle.

The Court ordered the review of Mr. Kimberlin's case in light of a ruling
today in an unrelated case from Illinios. In that unanimous ruling, the
Justices made it harder for some public officials to claim they are
immune from lawsuits alleging violations of civil rights.

Mr. Kimberlin's lawsuit bad been dismissed because he offered only
circumstantial evidence to support his claim that he was improperly
disciplined. A federal appeals court said he needed direct evidence to
pursue his claim.

Mr. Quayle has denied buying marijuana from Mr. Kimberlin and the DEA
later concluded the accusation was false.

In 1988, Mr. Kimberlin was being held in at the Federal Prison in El
Reno, Okla., for drug conspiracy and involvement in eight Indiana bombings.

Four days before Mr. Quayle was elected VP on Nov. 8, the director of the
Bureau of Prisons, Director J. Michael Quinlan, canceled a prison news
conference at which Mr. Kimberlin had planned to say he sold Mr. Quayle
marijuana during the 1970's. Mr. Quayle was a law student at Indiana
University at the time. Mr. Quinlan also ordered Mr. Kimberlin placed in
special detention.

Mr. Kimberlin sued Mr. Quinlan and a former Justice Department spokesman,
Loye Miller, saying they violated his constitutional right to free speech.

Mr. Kimberlin was released from prison in February 1994 after serving 14
years.

on D. Kos, about Bev Harris:

which may or may not be very credible, but I sure would like someone to do a follow-up. It might make interesting reading.

47. that's the guy who decided
that Kelvin Mace (David Allen) and "Neil B. Forzod" were the same person. Possibly he needs to spend more time outside. Or less.

That isn't to say that he is wrong about everything. (Full disclosure: I think he's gone on record somewhere that I am paid by Diebold, because I pointed out that someone called "NC Beach Girl" didn't actually post only on voting machine topics. Granted, I was right, but what possibly could have been my motive for saying so?)

Let's be fair: there are plenty of people who think Bev Harris has done some good, including folks whom I really respect.

55. I think I'm much more inclined to reserve judgement on that
According to Brad on Bradblog, there *was* something of a dispute between Bev Harris and Clint Curtis, the former programmer running for congress down in Florida, against the Bush Insider who (allegedly) originally hired him to write (undetectable) vote-rigging software. (Something to do with Wayne Madsen, I think?)

But it looks like she's baaack, all that's water under the bridge, and she's making appearences in Ohio with Bob Fitrakis. (According to the Bradblog site, earlier this month.)

I did go to the BlackBoxVoting.org web site, and if that's her work, it looks like a pretty interesting useful and interesting web presence, to me.

I'm still woefully ignorant about whatever it was that caused Ms. Harris to be banished from the good graces of D.U. (not to mention the aforementioned Mr. Madsen), but then there are 2 sides to every story, and I'll wait until I find out what hers is, before writing her off.

There was a very interesting discussion here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2358825

regarding the reliability of one Brett Kimberlin (the dude who allegedly furnished Dan Quayle with some herbal smoking products, who was in Doonesbury for a while), that definitely has both pro and con proponents.

45. careful about your sources
Media Research Center definitely has an agenda, and I bet it isn't yours!

But I don't think that actually matters here. Kimberlin was convicted for the Speedway bombings. Based on what little I've read about his dealings with Mark Singer, I imagine he can tell a pretty good story -- so I won't necessarily think less of people who work with him. Here is a story he (apparently) likes to tell about himself:
Epoxy arose out of the hellish depths of Brett’s time in prison for exercising his First Amendment rights to speech and political activity. Without any trial, Brett was hauled off to federal prison after being targeted by right-wingers who wanted to punish him for being a musician, writing a book and speaking out about politics.

http://www.epoxyband.com/bios

Well, Not Exactly. The man was locked up for using bombs to hurt people really bad (as well as for dealing in large, large quantities of drugs). If he isn't going to be honest about that, then it's hard to believe him about anything.

(Lots of folks supported Kimberlin on the First Amendment issues beginning in 1988, and they may have been right to do so -- certainly based on what they knew at the time. But the key phrase there is "beginning in 1988." Kimberlin apparently had been in prison since 1979 -- and no, AFAICT, it wasn't for being a musician.)

There are multiple people named "Brett Kimberlin" in the US....take a look at the listings at Zabasearch.com...they have different middle initials and birth years.

Do any of your various sources actually connect the Kimberlin of Justice Through Music with the convicted bomber?

on edit: Try a Google search on:

"justice through music" kimberlin bombings

the *only* hit is to an old DU post from "jamboi" here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x123732

in which he claimed this same connection by starting out with "Research has revealed" but if I read the thread correctly, jamboi never provided proof (although he did keep kicking his own topic over and over again...)

According to this post by "lala_rawraw" -

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=2358825#2359103

in this GD thread -

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=2358825

it would appear that yes, he's the one from Indiana who was in prison until 1994...articles and books...strange ommissions here and there...and I've run out of time to keep looking.

However, I can confirm the connection between "velvetrevolution.us" and "Justice Through Music" but I'm not sure that it was ever "hidden" in the first place, but I'll leave that for others to discuss.

However, it still doesn't answer all my questions. What case did he win? The one where he was sent back to jail after winning parole for his accusation of selling Quayle pot? Or the original conviction he was sentenced to for the bombings?

LaLa seems to claim at least that he won some sort of appeal on the latter (of which I'm skeptical, as are others), having several times mentioned "exoneration." This seems to be based on stuff he's told her, although he claims he's restricted in what he can say. She also seems to back it up based on him having money to give to various causes, although the money could have come from anywhere, including from his activities as a "commodities trader representing interests in Ukraine" (as menntioned on Amazon.com and the NY Times website).

The man appears to have been involved in a LOT of litigation over the years, so it would take some rather intensive investigative reporting by qualified professionals to sort this all out, IMO. I don't qualify. And I don't think he was "sent back to jail" after the Quayle stuff....he was still serving time during all of that, but the confusion seems to arise out of him being sent in and out of "detention" (administrative detention) within the facility (maybe solitary confinement?) due to his attempts at communicating with the media. This incident also seems to have delayed his eventual parole, although again, only people with access to more specific records would be able to verify what eventually happened.

63. Returned to prison after 1994 parole for parole violations
Kimberlin was in prison from 1980 to 1994. Paroled February 1994. http://www.crrh.org/hempnews/hn_10.html

Then apparently was returned to prison until 2001 for violation of parole:

JUNE 2001 "Convicted bomber and frequent litigant Brett Kimberlin ... who's in federal prison in Petersburg, Va., on parole violations", http://www.overlawyered.com/archives/01/june1.html

Kimberlin was released from prison, was returned to prison, and was released again, the last time in June 2001. He has filed a number of lawsuits, among them a civil case against the Department of Justice stemming from the 1988 restrictions, which he argued violated his First Amendment rights. A final appeal of that case was rejected by the Supreme Court in March 2001. More recently, Kimberlin was involved in another First Amendment lawsuit against the Department of Justice, this time because of a prison ban of electric guitars. That suit was rejected this month. http://www.memphisflyer.com/memphis/Content?oid=oid%3A3597
