Bush will still be able to classify documents even AFTER his term is over
Executive Order 13233, which restricts access to the records of former United States Presidents, was drafted by then White House counsel (now the US Attorney General) Alberto R. Gonzales, and issued by President George W. Bush on November 1, 2001, shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Bush administration issued the order just as the National Archives was preparing to release a small portion of Presidential records from the Ronald Reagan administration, some of which might prove embarrassing to the President's father, George H. W. Bush, due to his involvement in the Iran-Contra Affair. Section 13 of Executive Order 13233 revoked Executive Order 12667, of January 18, 1989.

This is why I support Anti-corruption, open government Democrats.

7. A Dem president will have every power the chimp has
It'll take a long time to cancel all the shitty decrees and secret executive orders on file in the White House basement.

6. So was this the motive for Papa Bush to get Shrub elected...

I've always felt that Papa was much guiltier than he made out in the Iran-Contra deal. Wouldn't surprise me if he was Reagan's Cheney.

Well, let's make sure that the current Bush in office is the last Bush in office.

8. Got news for the Bushites: these papers are the property of the United
States. Congress obviously trumps any executive order, and a new one can undo an older one. Make it a law and make noncompliance a felony.

9. Here's what I don't understand:
this idea that there will be an 'after his term is over.' Won't he just issue signing statements about Article 2, Section 1 and the 22nd Amendment? ;-)
