Do I really have to post a disclaimer that this is hypothetical? That I know Clinton & Edwards won't be the only names on the ballot? Etc., etc., etc.?

By 2008 rolls around I think the country is going to be massively on a anti-Washington bent. Which means Gore and H. Clinton would be very bad ideas for the Dem candidate. Forget about any congressmen, former VPs, and other high profile Washington players. A better candidate would probably be someone who's currently a Governor.

35. Sorry. Al Gore is clearly the best candidate for a long list of reasons.

Not the least of which is, he understands that the Environment is the number ONE security issue facing us in this century.

He's the best candidate, far and away. I think a Gore-Feingold ticket will be hard to beat.

Between those two, Edwards. But I'd vote for either in the general.

And also in the mix to contend with are: Kerry, Gore, Clark, Feingold, Boxer, Obama, Warner, Harkin, Dean, etc.

None of them are perfect. All of them are in their various ways smart and caring enough to lead this country, IMO. (especially after experiencing the *cross fingers* rock bottom of how low we can go).

I think we have a DAMN deep talent pool. We are not desperate - far from it.

All these arguments are about who might make the most effective commercials - but the truth is that our party is full of people who would do us great honor once they got there.
