Finally a Free Speech segment tonite on CBS Evening News worth watching!
From an email from the Nation Magazine just received...

Tune in tonight at 6:30pm to the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric to see Nation editor and publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel deliver the program's "Free Speech" segment on the costs of the Iraq war and why the troops should come home. Many apologies for the late notice but we were just informed that this segment would be airing tonight. If you miss it this evening, CBS News' website will feature the segment tomorrow in both audio and video form.

Best Regards,

Peter Rothberg,
The Nation

1. The Nation is on my "Dead to Me" list
after that BS article from Matt Taibbi that they published about Wes Clark in 2003.

2. Oh God - I remember that.
That was the snarkiest little hit job I had ever read.

3. The Nation eats it's own...
I use to subscribe and read it regularly...

But then they started with the infighting and championing causes that only effect slight segments of the population and then they couldn't even agree amongst themselves...

I got sick of the college kid rants disguised as intellectual discourse that was really twenty people on one side claiming they were more liberal and fifteen on the other claiming they were the true representatives of intellectual liberal thought...

Oy....

4. The Nation
I don't think it's bad to read this mag. Too many book reports and not enough substance, but interesting none the less. Mother Jones is more to my liking, however support of any progressive news is welcome. Don't forget the old wheat from chaff parable, when reading anything.

7. The piece itself was good, but Katie Couric undercut it...
Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 05:57 PM by Eric J in MN
...by saying right afterwards: Tomorrow, we'll hear a different view of the war from a Marine who says we must stay in Iraq.

After Rush Limbaugh's "freeSpeech" segment, Katie Couric DIDN'T preview a contradictory segment.
