James Baker's "New Iraqi Course" Means Our Soldiers Died for a Mistake.
Nearly 3,000 soldiers and Marines have died for a war plan by the White House that was a disaster. They died for a mistake. Oh, it's not nice to say that, but it's the truth.

The headlines are everywhere today: "James Baker Has a Panel Preparing A Change of Course In Iraq". Yeah, that's right, not "stay the course" but "a change of course". Of course the "new plan" will not be revealed until after the election.

For three years, our brave men and women have "stayed the course". They went to war without body protection. They had to make war on the cheap. They followed the command. And thousand have died and tens of thousands are wounded.

And guess what? Now these bastards are going to announce AFTER the election a "new course".

As John Kerry once asked, "how do you ask someone to be the last person to die for a lie".

5. Grrrrrrrr.
If this little jerk in the White House thinks that James Baker can white wash his failure then he's truly insane.

Any change whatsoever by Bush after his huffing and puffing for three years means failure.

8. Amazing, isn't it zidzi? Daddy sends James Baker to 'splain it to Georgie.
Yeah, how about NO MORE soldiers dying for lies and "staying the course".

American military families should rise up in arms if Baker now tries to whitewash the failure.

4. Yep, and there are GOP senators who think it was a mistake, too
And they're holding their tongues until after the November elections as well. Which should tell everyone what they need to know about Republicans: The Elephant soars above everything. Whether the issue is our country, the safety of children, deployment of the military, allocation of federal funds, staffing of agencies, the environment, public health and safety, the responsibilities of corporations, exposing corruption, or anything else, the Elephant (political considerations) soar above everything else.

Our military men and women are dying in Iraq based on a flawed policy, we're wasting billions of dollars a week, we're losing the trust and respect of our allies, hundreds of Iraqis we're supposed to be liberating are dying day by day, and we're helping the cause of international terrorists, but because admitting that the policy in Iraq is flawed would be politically damaging this close to the election, Republicans have agreed not to do or say anything until after the votes are cast in November.

And yet the media can't be bothered to report this, as none of their core interests are affected by Republican game-playing.

7. Do NOT be misled!

Baker was the envoy sent to Florida in the 2000 election to stop the vote count and put DimSon in the White House.
