If the Dems get back in power, I'll finally be able to sleep at night

knowing that we have responsible leaders who aren't hell-bent on turning us a facist dictatorship, invading every nation on the planet one by one, forcing fundie Christianity on every American, raping 16 year old boys, systematically persecuting and demonizing gays, making the president into a king, putting one political party above the law, and destroying and fucking up the entire world in every way possible. That we have leaders who are actually working in our and the rest of the world's interest.

I'll be able to log onto the 'Net at various times during the day without wondering what the latest disaster is, the latest assault on liberty, on democracy, on the Constitution.

Come to think of it, I guess that means both the nightmares and night and the nightmares during the day will stop.

5. The REAL work of holding these people

accountable will then begin. We really do not have accountability built into our government here. The folks we send to DC are pretty much used to doing as they so desire.

Don't lay off just because more people with D's after their names are sitting in the seats previously occupied by pugs.

Accountability must begin. All this theft and corruption at every level in government has got to be curtailed. It's killing this country.

Gonna be a Herculean task even with the Dems in office. Not only are they going to have to do serious damage control to correct the Rethuglican ravages of the last 6 years, they'll have to chart a whole new course for the future--with us nipping at their heels every step of the way. That course must be radically different from anything we have seen before, or we'll revert back to the slime pit all too quickly.

Get some sleep but fasten seatbelts, all. It's gonna be a wild ride.
