Did anything ever come of Laura Bush moving out of the WH?
Or, was that just a rumor with no substance?

Anything to it, if not?

I was a bit out of the loop when the story first made DU, and don't remember if anything came of it?

1. They would have her "replaced" if she ever tried to.

3. I suspect Laura is in a very bad situation.
If she ever tries to leave George, the Bushes would probably ensure that she doesn't get a cent. There aren't many options for a woman her age unless she wants to write the "tell-all" book of all time.

6. Worse than bad.
I suspect that if she ever tried to leave George she was would be found dead one fine morning of a massive heart attack. Such a shame .... so young ... and so unexpected ....

10. I have to admit, I feel sorry for her.
I can't imagine a fate worse than being married to W. Because she's not just married to the individual, she's married to the "syndicate." I'd be popping pills all day and night too if I were in that situation.

2. As much as I would like to chuckle at the thought of marriage....
trouble in the moral center of the universe. There are currently too many life and death issues to give to much time to Pickles and Chuckles personal problems.

5. It was big news when it was posted on DU a few months back...
And, if George & Laura separated, I'm guessing if you throw in the Foley scandal, evangelical turnout would be near 0 on the Republic side.

7. Likely just a bunch of BS sourced by CHB and the National Enquirer
Didn't think much of it when it was first reported by those guys. Still don't.

11. I'm pretty sure it was not CHB
Not sure about the Enquirer, but they're more reputable than CHB

9. The royal shrub family would never give her a penny.
I hope she leaves him and writes that book.

12. I'm willing to let Laura stay if George will permanently move out.
Here's hoping he gets officially moved out soon.

As for Laura, the new democratic president will, in 2008, build a nice cottage for her on the grounds. She and Katherine Harris and any other really crazy repubican broads can move in there. They can serve as a reminder to all of us of the mental illness that IS republicanism.
