4. umm pat, they are also ALL christians |
|
so why do you only specify one characteristic and not others? like they are republicans? or conservatives?
maybe it is because the majority of child molestors in the USA are christians and you want to avoid that conversation?
as in, why are so many christians also child molestors?
it stands to reason, in a nation that claims itself to be overwhelmingly christian, that christians will commit the most crimes.
no big deal, pat, so go for it!

Buchanan is "straight". Personally I doubt it. He strikes me as typical of someone who hates himself.

6. This is NOT Buchanan's Phrase, it is what they call themselves. |
|
It is what gay Democrats on the hill (many of whom know exactly who is a closeted Republican and who is not) call them.
They are a blackmail and patronage racket, and David Brock (a gay ex-Republican) and Ana Marie Cox have been talking about the "Velvet Mafia" for years now.
If Democrats pile on Buchanan for saying this, they are shooting themselves in the foot.
Foley was kept on very explicitly because his ties to the gay community in Washington allowed DELAY to continue blackmailing the entire gay community.
Foley wanted to retire in 2004. DeLay said NO. The public excuse was that Foley was too good a money-raiser. The private excuse, according to David Brock and the Washington Monthly (they said this in 2004, you can look it up) was that DELAY HAD THE GOODS ON FOLEY, AND BY EXTENSION ANY FORMER PAGE OR ASSOCIATE OF FOLEYS -- and there were MANY CLOSETED REPUBLICANS on the Hill who traced their job to Foley.
He was running a casting couch.
DeLay was keeping tabs on everyone he associated with. DeLay was keeping dossiers.
Until Democrats understand that, they will continue shooting themselves in the foot because they are afraid to investigate a blackmail scheme that these people have used to maintain absolute control over dozens of Republican staffers ever since DeLay was put in leadership in 1994.
The "Velvet Mafia" is real. They are evil people who the liberal gay community on Capitol Hill have felt compelled to protect on the grounds that otherwise, all gay people on the Hill will be fair game. In the FBI this is known as acquiescence to blackmail racketeering and it is illegal to acquiesce to blackmail, even if you are the one being blackmailed.

7. Could Buchanan please go |

on a hunting excursion with Cheney so Cheney can accidentally blow Buchanan's sorry, hateful, arrogant ass to smithereens.

8. Thanks for the "on edit" clarification -- Pat knows what's going on |
|
The Pages themselves were being blackmailed. If you were a closeted gay evangelical (half of the nation's gay people grew up in Red homes and many of them embrace Red values, remember) the easiest way to get a job on Capitol Hill was to become a page and go thru Foley's office.
That meant DeLay had the goods on you and by extension your future Congressman/employer.
Thus fulfilling Newt's pledge to "rein in" moderate Republican staffers on Capitol Hill, who run the day-to-day business of Congress.
DeLay was assigned to do that in 1994 by hook or by crook. His methods, later adopted by Karl Rove (according to David Brock, a gay ex-Republican who knows the extent of the problem) were only whispered about.
It was said that DeLay had the "goods" on so many people, primarily staffers, not the Congressmen themselves, but never specified what the nature of those "goods" were. And Foley was allowed to continue doing his thing, operating a casting couch for easy-to-manipulate closeted Republicans -- the perfect foot soldiers.
Like the Christian Janissaries who operated the Turkish war machine, they were disciplined and easy to control by virtue of their precarious position.
That's why they called DeLay the "Velvet Hammer". The "Velvet Mafia" derived from DeLay's nickname, because it was run out of DeLay's office, according to Ana Marie Cox, David Brock and Lawrence O'Donnell.
