WTF? TX's Congressional members choosing KBH over Dem?
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 02:22 AM by rainbow4321
With friends like these...

If you guys see any extra spines/balls/ovaries/guts/any other non-DINO body parts laying around, please fed-ex them immediately to Texas' Congressional members, will you? Thanks in advance!

Want to watch someone squirm? Ask the Texas Democrats in Congress how they feel about the state's Republican senior senator and whether voters should let her keep her job.

"Why you doing that? Why you doing that? Why?" said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, grimacing and laughing when asked for her views of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. After collecting her thoughts, she carefully said: "Senator Hutchison is very involved in the state of Texas and is keenly aware of Texas' needs and works collaboratively with House members on delivering to Texas on some of our crucial concerns."

The state's 11 Democratic House members find themselves in an awkward spot this election season. Ms. Hutchison holds the record for most votes collected by anyone in Texas. Democrats haven't won a statewide race in years. They might need her if they're going to get any legislation passed in the next six years.

Republicans called it a no-brainer for Democrats to tread carefully. "She's strong as horseradish," said Rep. Michael Conaway of Midland. "They know they need to keep a low profile."

1. Strong as horseradish? How about strong as skunk spray?
Tell it like it is, Conaway.

4. I will wonder why you ever wondered after the next one in about a month
They will try in desperation to steal it. It just will never work on this next go around.

2) Even though first-time voters, lapsed voters (those who didn’t vote in 2000), and undecideds went for John Kerry by big margins, and Bush lost people who voted for him in the cliffhanger 2000 election, Bush still received a 3.5 million vote surplus nationally.(3)

3) The fact that Bush far exceeded the 85% of registered Florida Republicans’ votes that he got in 2000, receiving in 2004 more than 100% of the registered Republican votes in 47 out of 67 Florida counties, 200% of registered Republicans in 15 counties, and over 300% of registered Republicans in 4 counties, merely shows Floridians’ enthusiasm for Bush. He managed to do this despite the fact that his share of the crossover votes by registered Democrats in Florida did not increase over 2000 and he lost ground among registered Independents, dropping 15 points.(4)

4) The fact that Bush got more votes than registered voters, and the fact that by stark contrast participation rates in many Democratic strongholds in Ohio and Florida fell to as low as 8%, do not indicate a rigged election.(5)

5) Bush won re-election despite approval ratings below 50% - the first time in history this has happened. Truman has been cited as having also done this, but Truman’s polling numbers were trailing so much behind his challenger, Thomas Dewey, pollsters stopped surveying two months before the 1948 elections, thus missing the late surge of support for Truman. Unlike Truman, Bush’s support was clearly eroding on the eve of the election.(6)

5. We are being arrested trying to get to KBH's office in DALLAS.
This is outrageous. "She's strong as horseradish", and we need to know we have to keep a low profile.

Never in all my life.

Go look up David Van Os running for Attorney General, if we get him then the country will win.

This woman represents me and I can not go into her office or get near without threat of arrest. She is the personifaction of everything that is wrong with "our government". Of the people and by the people, KBH has no clue.

9. Which is why there will never be a..
"what would Kay do?" movement nor a "what would (insert name of Dem from original article here)do" at this rate with their crappy attitude.

6. We need some DU help in Texas, KBH needs to be removed.
I've promised her the same for 5 years, every time I have called her office, every time I have stood outside her office.

I was escorted up to her office by a Dallas Police Officer.

KBH is out of touch and she knows too much. She does not care about you or I.

I was told several years back by one of her staff members, go away. Kay does not care she is not up for election.

I responded with yes, that is true, but she will be in 2006 and I will do everything within my power to bring attention to her and make sure she is never reelected.

We need help in Texas and that means give a buck or two to David VanOs and Barbara Radnofsky. They are our best hope.

10. I've been trying to bring attention to KBH's opponent,
Barbara Ann Radnofsky. Sad thing is, I just went to look at her site and it's no longer there. Guess she ran out of money. :(

12. Happens with people that are popular

I remember republican candidates for Congress refusing to answer if they were voting for Dole or Clinton in 96.
