O'Reilly: Iran wants the Democrats to win in November

http://mediamatters.org/items/200610090003

<snip>

O'REILLY: Now, Iran wants to keep the USA pinned down in Iraq so America cannot rally opposition against Tehran for their nuclear ambitions and other things. It also wants to weaken President Bush in the upcoming election. You remember Iran destroyed Jimmy Carter's re-election chances in 1980 with the hostage fiasco.

So now Iran has ordered its killers to up the violence in Iraq for the next month, believing that Americans will hold President Bush responsible and vote in the Democrats, who the Iranians believe are not as aggressive in foreign policy.

3. Well, there you go. Who says the people of Iran and the people of the US
have nothing in common? This is a good thing. Now everyone will be happy (except for those who just lost power).

6. Did you expect anything less from this guy?
Unfortunately, this stupid ploy did help the Repubs in past elections, convincing some numbskulls that the enemy wants the Democrats to win, vote for Dems and we're all going to DIE! You gotta applaud them for sticking with what works.

Waiting for the RW to start talking about how Kim Jong Il is hoping for a Dem win, too...

7. Makes no sense, Bill. If Iran wants the US pinned down in Iraq, why
would they want the Dems to take control? The Democrats will begin to try to get our troops out of Iraq, thereby, freeing up the US military for other things. Your argument doesn't hold water.

11. Those who voted for Reagan in 1980 were Iranian enablers.
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 10:23 AM by Secular Agent Man
The Republicans had no problem siding with the Iranians during the 1980 election. Any American who voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 was voting to empower the Iranians. In my opinion, anyone who voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 was a traitor. I would like to thank those who voted for Jimmy Carter for giving a big "fuck you" to the Iranians.
