Six years ago -- no future for political web sites (Ha!)
This from a CNET article written in May 2000:

Political Web sites may not survive beyond campaigns

..."Overall, I'm deeply skeptical about the viability of these political Web sites," said Jay Stanley, an analyst at market research firm Forrester Research in Cambridge, Mass. "Americans in general don't enjoy politics, and those who do have such information overload it leaves one wondering exactly what value these sites bring." ...

...(Charlie Rentschler at BetterVote.com.): "We found that Americans are pretty darn apathetic," he said. "People have never been interested in sifting through piles of information."

1. The credit goes to Bush
If he'd lifted even his pinkie finger to help unite Americans around his leadership rather than abuse the system for all it was worth, people wouldn't have cause to be so fired up, now would they?

5. Well, if one looks for anything good
that's come out of this administration, it's that there are quite a few less apathetic voters in America these days. I'm just hoping there's enough paying attention to turn the tide in November.

6. Yes, me too. Because alone I sure can't do a damn thing about it
Alone all I can do is pontificate about stupidity over an electronic medium.
