Physical symptoms of nausea caused by news about Iraq
Does anyone else experience this? I think that I have gone through the stages of denial about just how bad things are in Iraq, but I have clearly moved past this. Events over there seem so overwhelmingly negative and so tragic that, combined with the more abstract but as equally negative (and untenable) position that our country now finds itself in, it really is causing physical symptoms.

I am only in my early 30s, but I have to believe that this is what Vietnam felt like.

4. so glad you brought this up, I've felt that way every time I think about
Iraq since the day we invaded. Not really nausea but a physical pain in my stomach.

What a tragedy. Sometimes I feel like we are living some Greek tragedy. Sure wish the gods would hurry up and come down and fix things up.

5. The images are deeply distrubing
I feel like puking if i look at them too much, not death per se, but
the immense tragedy that in the prime of our lives, our culture has
resulted in 'that' horror, sickens yes, if i look at the images long
enough, certainly a photo montage of iraqi dead children has brought
me to tears on several occasions in past, nausea as well, but also,
just a shocking feeling afterwards for a long time, where i feel
like i've been struck a blow against my heart.. thump... uugghhh.

6. Sometimes, if the news is particularly striking.
Sometimes, usually if Halliburton is mentioned, I fly into a blind rage.

7. I feel something heavy and hot rising in my throat.
Bile? Vomit? Rage? I dunno. But I totally know what you mean.

The fact that *we knew* it would be like this is no consolation at all -- it makes it worse because we were so helpless to stop it.
