Okay, here's a Tin Foil Hat Idea...
Do you suppose the reason that not more has been done to fix future election theft with hacking, etc. is because our own Dems plan on stealing back some seats, and then a presidency themselves? That is, if need be?

Certainly, the greatest computer-geek minds on the Dems side have analyzed enough critical data to do it themselves. They probably have the codes in secret hiding someplace. They may have figured out how to make it much more undetectable if they were to pull it off, just in case...

Now, of course this is a horrible thought, right? But what are you really thinking? If we had an ordinary Republican Administration with just regular bullshit going on and not this major horrendous - beyond our wildest imagination - sick and sad state of affairs- what's happened to our constitution crap going on- well then it might be different, right? If things weren't so desperately bad? Just in case?

I'm not saying it's right. I'm not saying anything, except that there's a chance something like this is in the works or on the table. Thoughts? I'm aware I could get flamed.

1. The thing is, that is a Republican tactic.
We're Democrats.

10. I agree in pricipal but...
Just like each Republican is an individual, some bad, some good, so are Democrats. Being a democrat doesn't automatically make one a good person, unwilling to participate in something like this, which is why we NEED to have a paper back-up of these machines.

Bottom line is, if the Democrats win a close election, what do you think Republicans will do? Cry about election fraud, of course! Because it's only election fraud if your side loses.

If there was fraud in the last election (and I'm not convinced there was, but I'm convinced there could have been), the losing side is going to be the one most interested in seeing it brought to light.

Personally I'd like to see a return to 100% paper ballots, run through a non-computerized machine.

3. Nah, but I do think some Dems
would be willing to "look the other way" if they are allowed to keep their seats.

4. Nope. It's because the rethugs own Congress.
There is no such thing as an 'ordinary republican' congress. dream on.

9. Congress doesn't count the votes, States do.
The Democrats are going to sweep the Governorships this election.

7. If the situation was different then maybe. Currently what you suggest
is impossible. The Repukes have an active senator that was CEO of ES&S which is now Diebold. Reps are entrenched in electronic voting. Dems aren't even on the same page when it comes to election fraud. They still believe it is possible to win fairly.

12. Well, it's good to consider everything...
...but in the end, some ideas will shrivel up in the daylight. Diebold, ES&S and others have GOP ties. Triad has been caught tampering to thwart the Ohio recount. So if the Dems thought that they could hack the election away from the hackers and owners of the hardware and software, they'd be accepting a serious handicap. Not that that itself is uncharacteristic of the Democratic Party. But a more reliable way to win would be to end fraud, not to participate in fraud. Still, it is pleasant to imagine that all Dem Senators except Boxer were not spineless, just unified in a farsighted plan.

13. No.
It has already been well demonstrated that when more people vote, Dems win.

That's why it's the reTHUGs who invariably have to rely on voter suppression, disenfranchisement, vote manipulation, and elimination of recounts to win.
