BBC Live on Baghdad ammo explosion |
|
They are showing live pictures now, the explosions are still happening.
The reporter is saying there are eyewitnesses that said, it was an attack on the base.
The reporter also said A US spokesman said they got everybody out, but its not known if they are any causalities. (he didn't seem to believe this IMHO)

Not the web, "BBC World News"
Its night time in Iraq, but as the reporter was speaking, you could see the huge flashes of light in the background.
The strange thing was when he started to talk about if there was causalities, it was like he didn't believe the US version of events.

3. They got everybody out but they don't know if there are casualties? |
|
Either they got everybody out or they don't know if they got everybody out and there may be casualties. It can't be both.
I don't doubt a US spokesman said that, it's the usual positive spin garble.

7. I just took a peak at CNN Headline |

and the source of the fire has still been called unknown (yeah, right) and the military is just letting it burn itself out. It's too risky to get close enough to fight it.
Still no word on casualties.

I switched from Lou Dobbs' discussion about the blasts (no evidence of attacks) to the BBC World Report (eyewitness accounts said it was a rocket attack). It was on about two hours ago IIRC. edited to add link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6038990.stm
