MO, VA, AZ, TN, NJ, CT. . .the battleground states for the Senate. News?? |
|
What is going on?
From my most recent research:
AZ - Pederson is fading to a lightweight, Jon Kyl. (Pederson -9) MO - McCaskill is tied with neo-fascist Jim Talent VA - Webb isn't making up ground on Macaca Boy, the Deer Hunter (Webb -5) TN - Ford is slowly pulling away from Bob Corker (Ford +2) NJ - Mendenez is pulling away from Tom Kean, uber loon (Mendenez +3) CT - Ned Lamont is getting killed by Lieberman (WTF?) (Lamont -13)
If this holds, Democrats have a 50 - 49 - 1 (with Sanders voting with the Democrats).
Anyone else have anything better?

1. With the exception of Lamont, which I agree is "WTF?"... |

I wouldn't say anyone is pulling away from anyone else in those races, they are all within the MOE, except maybe Pederson -9.
Close races scare me, though, as we know the Repubs will steal it if they have to. Anyone here think they are going to give up control without pulling out all the stops? I didn't think so.

Lieberman is getting a lot of Republican support and I'm guessing the war-loving Democrat vote

Is still surprisingly close--essentially within the MOE. Keep in mind that George Felix Allen is spending $650,000 per week for the last few weeks on television and he's not making up ground either! Webb just went up with an ad last week, and is adding another one this week. The DSCC finally came through today and is putting up a cool million for ads. Let's see where Webb stands after he's had a week of ads.
Debate last night failed to score big for either one, but Webb held his own while Allen looked very canned. Allen also skipped out the back door immediately following the debate, dissing the reporters. Webb went out and answered questions. Let me tell you, that scored some points with the press!
Keep the faith. Nobody saw this race coming! George was actually sweating during the debate last night. He's so damn worthless.:hurts:

10. We have 6 pickups within our grasp, we need to win them all |

I think that unfortunately, Virginia isn't going to come out as we'd like it to. Webb just doesn't have the money to compete with Felix and I'm predicting that the Republicans will win that one on ground game.
New Jersey I believe will hold for us for the exact same reason that Virginia will hold for the GOP. New Jersey is a blue state and the Dem machine there is much more efficient than the GOP. Kerry and Corzine both did better than the polls predicted because of New Jersey's GOTV operation. Menendez will win by a slim margin, but it'll be good enough.
Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Montana are all looking good for dem gains. Ohio looks good if there are no shenanigans. Tennesee is certainly leaning Dem right now and unless Corker has something up his sleeve, Ford will miraculously pull it out. Missouri is hard to call, but no-talent is in serious trouble. This one will probably come down to ground game and it's hard to say who will win there, considering that Missouri while trending GOP over the past few years has still boded well for Democrats in many elections.
