Pro-choice Repubs are put on the spot with Alito nomination... |
|
They depend on moderate Democrats and pro-choice Repubs to win their races. The decision by George W Bush to nominate made their jobs much more difficult. He could have nominated a moderate Republican, like O'Connor, and they would have lived much more comfortable lives. Now, they will have to answer for their votes. They are probably having some sleepless nights?

|
and most of them are too old to make babies anymore themselves.
Otherwise they surely would not have voted for ** in the first place.

2. You know too that they are torn also by the desire to |
|
get the RW the f--- OFF of their backs, to get this issue out of their in-baskets, so someone else besides phony Right-to-Lifers can have some influence in their party.
Problem with that is that the RW won't stop after this particular political debt is paid.

This is what moral decision making is about. Doing the right thing regardless of personal consequences. Let's see how they fall out.
