Does anyone you know who voted for bush finally realize...
that he has messed up the country and they are going to feel the effects just like the liberals. Do they realize that he is affecting other countries as well? Or are they still stuck on stupid!

Especially here in MA and Maine.

My brother and his trucking buddies won't even vote GOP because of it. They are pissed, especially because of the divide the GOP has used on the poor and middleclass. They now believe the wealthy fooled them. I'd hate to drive an expensive car in front of them.

4. I know a few of each...
I'm the token liberal in my family, and the rest of them have begun to fight amongst themselves when it comes to politics.

5. NO - because they're on his side,
and they believe he'll protect them and take care of them. The bottom has to fall out before they'll get a clue, I fear.

ISSUES IN PERSPECTIVE

By David Grossack Updated: 4/25/2005
THE BIG BETRAYAL IN WASHINGTON

I have been a Republican since the age of 18. I am a member of the Hull Republican Town Committee and have been for about 20 years. I have long believed that the Republican Party symbolized the best hopes for all Americans of attaining prosperity through freedom. I have believed that Republicans wanted to limit the size of government, reduce taxes for everybody and return the country to a pre-New Deal ideal of self-reliance, responsibility and fairness.

I have strongly promoted George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, the Party and the principles for which I hope the Party stood.

I am being disappointed.

I am watching what is going on in Washington and I instead see a small clique of wealthy and powerful launching economic warfare against the majority of the American people. At a time when Republicans control both the White House and the Congress, what an opportunity for greatness is being squandered on a program of seemingly mean spirited legislation that caters to special interests.

8. My dad has finally started firing angry salvos at Bush, et al
It took him a while, but as a veteran, he knows when people are getting screwed over.

He's always voted Republican and I didn't expect him to vote otherwise (despite the DVDs I sent him and all the pro-Kerry conversation I could muster).

But now when he sees me on our weekly iChat, he'll often start out by bemoaning the latest antics.

9. No. Closest is a friend who voted for Nader, and is now very sorry!
It was in the 2000 election and he didn't like either candidate, so he voted for Nader. In 2004, his wife told him she wouldn't let him vote if he voted for a 3rd party again! (He's blind and she has to drive to the poll.)

NOW, you can't shut him up about how much he detests ShrubCo. FYI, he's a minister, and totally disapproves of abortion, but he said it's very stupid to be a single issue voter!

10. I know many. BUT it doesn't make them wanna go Dem.
The Democratic party has a unique opportunity here to start speaking to the concerns of both "bases."

Single payer health-care
Wage$ and Job$
Corporate controls
Privacy rights
Effective immigration plan

11. 1. my 54 yr old tx trustee harley riding male neighbor
he called hubby over in aug to tell him, to tell me. i was right and he was wrong.

flat out. that simple. that was the only reason for him to call husband over to his house. for whatever reason, he had to let me know, i was right, he was wrong.

months earlier, before election we had talked about repugs and what they are doing to our nation. he told me he couldnt talk to me about politics. what is said, when they arent informed and of course i am. he had a huge ass bush sign we had to see every time turning the corner to our house.

i was right............... he was wrong

the only one so far

but..... all hte ones that defended bush, dont talk politics now. they dont defend. they dont feel they have any kind of upper hand. i dont know if they have quietly changed their views

13. No, the homophobia, the hatred of all things non-white and
non-male, and the blind trust in the blithering idiot in whom they see themselves is just too powerful. I try to show them things, the missing money, the proven lies, the tanking economy, the union busting (Ford and GM, the land grabbing (NOLA), the class warfare on the poor. But they just won't see. It is easier on the brain to be blind and to hate with no reason. They are lazy, soul-less people. They can't realize that we are trying to fight for them, too, much as I don't want to admit that.

19. One guy. Only one guy. And he is a nice fellow, but didn't follow
politics much and fell for the repub BS. He admitted to me privately in 2005 that he was afraid he had made a big mistake. I told him yes, he had, and to not repeat the error...I don't think he will.

The other thousand people I know who voted for fucktard think he's just great.
