According to
this report from the BBC, Iran believes that Britain played a part in the recent terrorist attacks which killed 8 people:
"Britain must respond to the doubts of Iranians concerning the events," said Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
Mr Mottaki said the masterminds of the bombing "or people of their mind" had been photographed with UK officials.
A UK Foreign Office spokesman in London has denied the accusation, saying Britain condemned terrorism.
Of course, we mustn't forget the media blackout here in Britain of reports such as
this one from the Washington Post last September, on British operatives running around Basra posing as Arabs planting bombs:
Iraqi police had arrested the Britons on Monday for allegedly shooting at police and planting explosive devices. British troops then broke the men out of jail by ramming an armored vehicle through a wall. In response, Basra residents and police revolted, attacking British forces in the area.
Of course, here in Britain, it was reported that the jail break operation was a daring and brave mission, and there was wall to wall coverage of angry Iraqis denouncing Brits, and extended interviews with British troops engaged in the jail breaking excercise. However, nowhere was it reported in this country that British operatives were engaged in planting bombs in Basra whilst posing as arabs.
