Didn't the TSB ok lighters, some knives, some scissors, etc?

I swear I remember arguing about it, but the TSB said they were going to concentrate their inspections on explosives and that the things they OK'd wouldn't cause a real problem.

My son flew in from Italy on Sunday, and he had a little mini Bic in his briefcase. TSB got all excited about that and took it.

Did something change again, or is my brain failing again?

1. I don't remember lighters being approved to carry

but pocket knives, scissors and other things were.

small tools are allowed, like tiny pairs of scissors

not stuff you can start fire with
