Another good reason not to want Hillary as president.
If Hillary wins and is elected president and serves in that position until 2013, do you realize there would have been a Bush or a Cliinton in the White House for 24 straight years? 32 if you count Bush Sr's years as VP?!

For God's sakes, it has to stop! It's just not good democracy for two families to run the country for that damn long. And I feel it's pretty sad that, after nearly 15 years, we still can't supposedly find any decent candidates other than the Clintons.

1. I'd take the relative peace and prosperity
of "a Clinton" over the madness of a bush any damn day of the week. If it's Thursday, it must be Bash Hillary Day on DU. sheesh!

20. Why DUers hate Democrats and the good things Democrats...
... have done is beyond me.

Was Clinton1 perfect? Of course not. Duh.
Was Clinton1 an excellent President? Of course. Duh.

Why do DUers hate excellent Democratic Presidents? That's not rhetorical - the OP's derisive usage of "a Clinton" exhibits the scorn clearly.

Sheesh - DU genius at work again I guess...

Personally, I don't particulary care for her but that's a fine line from hating her.

34. I dislike Clinton because he lead directly to Bush-II.
Between his promoting what were basically Republican policies
and his lack of Willy Control, Clinton-I led almost directly
to Bush-II.

And Clinton-II voted for Bush's war.

2. I do want Hillary as president someday...
I like her and support her.

But like you, I don't want her to run in 2008 for those same reasons. I prefer her to wait and then run.

If she does run in 2008 and gets the nomination...she'd get my vote.

Clinton, Gore, Kerry just will not do it.
On the repuke side, I hope America has seen the light and none of their crooks will see the light of day.

We will need someone to come from nowhere and hit the scene. A Governor or junior Senator, maybe a previous VP candidate like Edwards. It has to be someone with charm, like Clinton had in '92.

7. I'm moving to France or something
This country is a joke. I pray I won't be born an American next lifetime. I really used to think it was a privelage. Now, I know, we are in massive denial and a fricking joke. That's what I think about this "democracy." Excellent point about the years and years of Clintons and Bush's. . IF this was a Democracy it wouldn't be allowed to have a president's SON be a president. Or a wife or a husband of a former president. That's too much POWER in too few hands. Kinda like one nation under a corporation that America has become. It's a joke. It's all a massive joke.

8. Get a grip!
With Clinton, the People actually CHOSE him twice! With Bush, the Machines and the Partisan "vote counters" chose him. Had the People been allowed to have their say, we would have had a President Gore and perhaps a President Kerry. If the People wanted Clinton twice, there's nothing wrong with that. He didn't make our Country a joke. You need to point that judgemental, wagging finger in Bush's face, not Clinton's. We were friggin' LOVED when Clinton was Pres ... and the Repugs just couldn't handle that. Sounds like some here on DU can't either. Kinda strange, if you ask me.

17. "Wait! Wait! I never had a chance to love ya!"
http://www.liberaloasis.com/2006/10/blogger_reviews_keep_coming_in.php

Sorry, couldn't resist the White Lion reference and a promo to a book I have not yet read, but I am sure will be very good based on the blog he writes.

I always remember Douglas Adams' comment about the President. The President's job was not to exercise power, but to draw attention away from it. Speaking of Adams, we had a John Adams followed very soon by a John Quincy Adams and we seem to have done okay. Not to mention the inbreeding that goes on in Congress and governorships. Failed Presidential candidate Alf Landon is the father of former US Senator Nancy Kassebaum who is the mother in law of current Senator Sam Brownback. Not to mention the Taft dynasty with William Howard Taft who was President and Chief Justice of SCOTUS, son Robert Alphonso Taft who was a 3 term Senator, grandson Robert served 7 years in the House and 6 in the Senate, great grandson Robert who was Governor of Ohio. And so on.
But the people in office are often not as important as the laws they pass

The President doesn't have all that much power. The problem with the Bush regime isn't Bush himself - it's the huge clique surrounding him.

However, just because Bill Clinton served 2 terms should not disqualify Hillary from serving. She is a remarkable woman who deserves to be treated seriously.

You mention that Bushes and Clintons have been in power now since 1980. Actually, there's been a Nixon, Dole, Reagan, or Clinton on EVERY ticket since 1952 (except 1964). Thats over half a century.

I hate the very idea of dynasties but it appears to be a new part of American democracy.

We can do better than the Clintons or the Bushes.

25. dynasties
Nixon, Dole, Reagan or Clinton.

Two of those families only had one politician in recent times, correct?

The Bush's can be called a dynasty, the Kennedy's, I am sure there are several others but in the case of the Clinton's, this is a married couple where both had already been active in politics. I am not sure I would characterize that as a dynasty it is not even generational.

Most of the problems in our system come down to money in my opinion.

I know I'm not the most active of posters but I have given plenty of other reasons for opposing a Hillary candiacy. And, not one person, has given me a reason for why there's nothing wrong with the same people running the country for 20 years.

Your post has a nasty tone to it which is completely uncalled for.
