I'm curious as to the ratings Katie is currently pulling in on an average basis, in comparison to ABC & NBC.
More importantly, I wonder how they compare with Keith's hourly show. I know that because he's on Cable, he has a lower viewership than a Network like CBS.
Ultimately, I'm curious as to how someone like Keith would do ratings wise if his show were on a Network. It wouldn't be the same, because the network would cut it down to 1/2 hour. They'd eliminate Oddball and the Musto segments.
But would his ratings surpass Couric's, and especially given her $$$$$$$$$ Salary, would he be a better bargain for CBS, than the clearly overpaid and underqualified Katie?

2. Nice dream. I don't think CBS can afford to voice a liberal, |
|
or at the very least balanced p.o.v. I think this country thirsts for it though.

4. I keep telling more people about KO |
|
and getting him a few more viewers here and there which doesn't add up to Katie's numbers but every viewer counts for KO especially if his show increases in viewers than decreasing.

6. I honestly believe he would wipe up the floor with...... |
|
....the other two networks. I think his brutal honesty would be a refreshing change for the masses. I think it would only alienate the backwash 30%ers.
Sadly, the network big-shots don't have the balls....

7. The network news divisions have become house organs of |
|
large corporations which don't want the truth getting out. GE, for instance, is one of the largest merchants of death in the world.

16. The network "big-shots" are corporate hacks, and corporations |
|
do not want KO's influence spreading to the masses. It's like expecting the Roman Emperors to cancel the bread and circuses and substitute philosophy classes.
The news divisions at the networks are there to provide light entertainment and generate some advertising income. It's not that they're afraid to take a chance on KO, it's that they loathe his approach and message.

Unless she gets a sccop and does a really heavy duty interview.
She has to be seen as a credible journalist.

Prime Time is about making money. There is not an opinion oriented show on any of the networks..because they do not make any money.
