A. Sullivan Puting Words In Ed Schultz's Mouth On CNN's LK

Ed said that the Foley story was "a gay story and a pedophilia story." Sullivan (and some woman) jumped on
Ed for making a "disgraceful connection" between homosexuality and pedophilia.

But that isn't what Ed said. He's saying that those are two separate issues.

The Foley story IS a gay story NOW because the Rs and their apologists have MADE THE (erroneous) CONNECTION and now have the
long knives out to bash the gays within their ranks.

Sullivan could have said that Ed was drawing a connection between being gay and being a LYING R Speaker of the House
who didn't protect children, but he didn't.

By forming his comment in the way that he did he did open himself up to criticism.

He did clarify on follow up, but his original comment was a bit clumsy.

I did like it when Ed asked Sullivan why he was a Republican when they were so anti-gay.

10. Ed worded his point VERY poorly.

When I heard Ed say "A gay story and a pedophilia story" i just rolled by eyes, listened to the first few faux-outraged remarks of Sullivan, and turned the channel.

Needless to say it didn't improve my image of Ed. He still seems like a reed in the wind, only playing a liberal when it suits him.
