4. Running "Be Very Scared Ads" Here

I think it's ironic, since my Congresscritter is who has voted with the GOOP more times than I like. The RNC has begun ads claiming Melissa Bean is a "Nancy Pelosi/San Francisco Liberal". The ads thud big time in the district as even the most Conservative Repugnican I've met thinks Bean is one of the least liberal (and a reason she'll retain her seat).

Unlike Gingrich who had a high "Q" rating or was known by lots of people...and of those people, he had a 25-30% popularity rating, the same can't be said of Pelosi. Hell, many people on DU still don't know who she is. They've tried to turn her into the latest Tom Daschele, but it hasn't caught on. Add to that the Hastert mess and, as one person told me last weekend, "having a woman in there to clean things up wouldn't be such a bad thing..." and that was a lifelong Repugnican who will be voting Democratic this year strictly since he wants to return to divided government and some responsibility.

When you have a church in New York firing a lady over 80 who is simply teaching sunday school, you have to figure it is merely an example of what is happening in other fundie churches. I know women who are so brainwashed, they really think they should not even speak up. ( oh what is that verse - women should be submissive to her husband? shudder)

It's only my opinion, but white christian men are feeling imposed upon. Instead of dealing with it, they say they love their wives, but treat them like second class citizens. They feel threatened by smart women. (Think Hillary)
