OBL dead from pancreatic cancer?
Last night, I spent several hours on deep background with a gentleman whose news organization has a global reach.

As our conversation winded down, he told me that his news organization has very credible information suggesting that OBL died approximately three months ago from pancreatic cancer, but that his news organization has been "leaned on" not to broadcast that yet.

Clearly, I have no way of knowing one way or the other, but thought I'd throw that out there as a placeholder in case the Administration tries to trot it out right before the mid-terms. That way, if you have unthinking Dittoheads you love, you can point them to this and ask, "Why did the Administration wait to announce it? Why didn't we get him at Tora Bora?"

1. Sounds like the same BS we've heard since about 12/01
I mean, if you can't get the job done, just spread rumors of your foe's demise...

3. I took it with a huge grain of salt...
... but on the off chance it turns out to be true, figured I'd put the placeholder out there, so the Rove Revisionists could be confronted with it.

5. Wow, he died again.
I know you're serious, I couldn't help it. OBL seems to be the "most dyingest" person in history.

Welcome to DU, good luck with your investigation!

I too think it's true, but that Rove is waiting to spring it on us as the October Surprise. Don't think it will help the GOP though.

Remember that picture of the Taliban funeral that our side DIDN'T bomb?

12. If he did die, they wouldn't want that released as it
might affect their power play and new dictatorial powers using fear.

13. If he is dead
it's not from anything scrub did.
Although he'd probably still take credit for it.

"Our war on terra has finally caught the leadur of al-ka-eh-da. Ozama bin-laden. We made the decision to wait him out. We know eventuly he'd die of old age or illness."

Rummy, "My stars. I was right. I said we'd get him and we did. We found his grave 100m inside the Pakistan border. Sakes alive. This is a great day."

15. Yawn.
This has been out there for years, and probably back in May it was put forth here as what would be the "October Surprise".

The only October Surprise is that Dems are dumb enough to believe that there is one, and so greet every single news item all month as if it's the OS.

Tell us something that is actually new. And confirmed. Or at least confirm-able.

"On deep background with a gentleman whose news organization has a global reach" does not impress me.
