Is anyone else just fed up with their lineup? I like Bill Press in the AM, hate Alex Bennett, love the hour of Thom Hartmann, hate Lynn Samuels, love Ed Schultz, hate the repeat of Bill Press (in place of the young turks) and love Stephanie Miller. Why do they keep Alex Bennett and Lynn Samuels on during the daytime? Put Stephanie Miller on in her real time slot!
I am switching to XM when my subscription is up if this doesn't improve.

3. Are you talking about AAR on Sirrius? |
|
I just got XM and haven't checked out the line up for AAR and that's about all that's liberal on their from what I've scanned.

There were two liberal channels on XM. AAR and a left channel. I will check again when my contract is up.

4. I've complained to them in the past to no avail. |
|
I first got on their case when AAR was sent packing. I listed every right wing voice against the very few left wing voices. They did reply. They said they have no politcial agendas. I'm of a mind that it may just all come around again. It all changes when contracts are up and with still only the two stations I think there will be constant moving back and forth. And does XM broadcast AAR 24-7? I know when they started it was only a partial day. Has it changed? But you right about Samuels(although she did call Couric, Katie Cu%t a couple weeks back) and Bennett are mostly horrible.

6. "AAR was sent packing"? |
|
AAR signed an exclusive deal with XM, that was not Sirius's fault. That said, their left lineup sucks. Bill Press is frequently clueless, Bennet and Samuels are totally hopeless. The Young Turks were alternately annoying and great and are now gone. I think Sirius figures that NPR is 'left', which it isn't, so they have to have two or three rightwing channels for balance. Hopefully they will find somebody good for the 6-9 evening slot. It is truly pathetic that I prefer Howard Stern reruns to whatever crap they have playing on Sirius Left.

8. Not what you said to start with. |
|
You said that Sirius sent AAR packing. They didn't. XM offered AAR (which at the time was carried by both XM and Sirius) an exclusive deal. You and I don't even know if Sirius was offered an opportunity to counter the XM offer, but even assuming that they did and that they declined to over-bid XM, that is far different situation than what was implied by your original statement. Nobody was sent packing, AAR left on their own.
I'm not defending Sirius regarding their Talk Left channel: it sucks, but at least lets keep this honest.

10. Beg to differ. Sirius had AAR solely before XM. |

Both Sirius and XM carried Air America when it first got started. XM carried an abbreviated version which is why I went with Sirius.
I personally love Bill Press and it is because of Sirius that I was turned on to Stephanie!

12. Although I cannot imagine subscribing only for talk radio ... |
|
if AAR is that important to you, I guess that's the way it is.
Sirius is the only provider for me. Their public radio, music choices, and reliable signal made the choice clear for me.
I listened to Franken's show on a long drive from St Louis to Indianapolis, and I found him entertaining. However, I couldn't help but have the uncomfortable feeling that Franken was simply offering an alterative to The Bloated Hog and his gang of suckling pigs. Nevertheless, we've got to go with our personal taste. (We have four satellite radios in our family -- my wife has XM in her car, #1 son has an XM portable, I have Sirius in my car, and #2 son has a Sirius portable. Although my wife sometimes wishes Honda had contracted with Sirius rather than XM, the rest of us are completely satisfied with our choices.)
