Join me on a trip down into the memory hole.
Remember in the days prior to the election in 2004, a local news crew in my area (KSTP - Channel 5, Minneapolis/St. Paul) discovered an enormous warehouse in Iraq that had been full of high-intensity explosives but was left UNGUARDED by the war planners because they directed troops to protect oilfields and the Ministry of Oil buildings?

Remember the concern at the time, that insurgents had obtained these massive quantities of explosives and that's what they were using for their IEDs and roadside bombs?

NOT A FUCKING PEEP has been heard on this story since.

Why? Our soldiers continue to be killed by these devices - shouldn't we know where it came from?

This pissed me off then, and it's only gotten worse.

3. And with using, say, two pounds per IED...
That makes about 392,000 bombs.

5. Fucking obscene.
Our soldiers dying precisely because our leaders had their priorities fucked up. This SHOULD have sunk Bushco in 2004, but somehow they arranged to deep-six the story. Argh, it makes me so angry.

4. If I remember correctly, at the time
high level Rethugs made it a point to blame our troops rather than the war planners for this. Still, I thought at the time that this would definitely get Bush and his group out, because it showed just how inept they are at actually protecting us or managing a war, which was supposed to be their strong point, as well as highlighting what their real interest is and always has been -- the oil.
There are so many other stories that also seem to have disappeared.
What about the missing $9 billion?

6. Maybe it's like others have noted - scandal overload.
This administration has followed up one outrageous act of ineptitude with another - it eventually becomes overwhelming and you just don't know where to focus attention anymore.
