L@@KIE......a Chicago Tribune poll. Even though we're a BLUE state,
this is still sweet. I live in freeperville so this poll reaffirms my faith in the rest of Illinois voters (except the Hastert supporting IDIOTS). Look at this poll! The GOP Congress is DOOMED. I'm so hoping the freepers in my District kick Weller to the curb. I can only hope.

This poll is only 600 likely voters. IMCPO....the numbers in Illinois are MUCH worse for the Repukes.

<snip>
President Bush delivered an in-person show of support for House Speaker Dennis Hastert on Thursday and professed optimism for Republicans in next month's elections, but a new Tribune/WGN-TV poll shows a majority of Illinois voters disapprove of the president's job performance and nearly 60 percent are unhappy with the GOP-led Congress.

The latest Tribune poll, conducted by Market Shares Corp. of Mt. Prospect, surveyed 600 likely Illinois voters for the Nov. 7 election. The margin of error was 4 percentage points.<snip>

<snip>
A total of 58 percent of voters surveyed said they disapprove of the job being done by the Republican majority in Congress, including 55 percent of self-described independent voters who are a voting bloc key to GOP success in Illinois. Roughly the same percentage of voters in the Republican-oriented suburban collar counties expressed dissatisfaction as satisfaction--44 percent to 40 percent--while 57 percent of Downstate and suburban Cook County voters also expressed disapproval.

Moreover, the poll found that 59 percent of Illinois voters believe Republicans have too much power in Washington through their control of the White House and Congress, including half of the voters in the collar counties, 54 percent Downstate, 59 percent in suburban Cook County, 78 percent in Chicago and a quarter of self-identified GOP voters.

1. One thing that ALWAYS puzzles me is the no opinion crowd.
Were they all victims of accidental massive head injuries? WTF? How can you NOT have an opinion of the current state of this country. How can someone go through life and not acquire enough information about the events that are occurring all around them to not have an opinion?

2. I know. The "no opinion" in THIS poll is quite high too.
It just reflects how uninformed our general population really is when it comes to politics? They don't read papers? They don't watch the news (what there is of it, that is)? I dunno.
