"The government is the potent omnipresent teacher. For good or ill it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that the end justifies the means -- to declare that the government may commit crimes -- would bring terrible retribution." -- Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis
Is it any surprise that corporate CEOs - emulating the President - have taken to using "sneak and peek" tactics, wiretapping, secret surveillance, and the like?
As Justice Brandeis said, the U.S. Government teaches by its example.
Can we expect to hear her defense team use the "W Stands for Wiretapping Defense"?
When discussing whether or not to illegally record client phone conversations, the former head of the Enhanced Equity Management Group at State Street wrote:
"I suggest we do something which is illegal ... My view is that we wouldn't be slapped too hard even if someone figured out that what we are doing is illegal."

Where's the GOP outrage?
