TALLAHASSEE - Rep. Mark Foley complained in an e-mail to Gov. Jeb Bush in 2004 that he was being ignored by President Bush on his trips to Florida after several hurricanes.

"I can't quite figure what I have done, but this is a continuing pattern of slights," Foley complained in a Sept. 29, 2004, e-mail to the governor, obtained by the Palm Beach Post in a public records request.

"Sorry to trouble you ... and I wouldn't if this wasn't so frequent," Foley wrote. "Have I done something to offend the White House? I am always getting the shaft."

The governor responded less than three hours later that he thought it was because the president was spending a lot of time in debate preparation in his 2004 re-election campaign.

"I know it is nothing you have done," he assured Foley.

outing everyone?? It's disgusting. Jeb Bush has done some pretty atrocious, and probably illegal, things in his life - let's focus on that and not his sexuality. I'm very disappointed by this gay-bashing, which is pretty much what it is. By focusing on his sexual orientation you're saying that's what's important, nothing else. That's sad.

34. Setting the record straight

According the the machoman guv, it was a boiler room.

Bush said he had to seek safety in the boiler room when he came across several anti-Republican protesters on his way to a fundraising event for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum.

Bush said he never had a concern for his safety, adding that he was taller and more “burly" than most of those who chased after him.

Bush said he didn't stop and confront the protesters because they weren't looking for dialogue.

He said they seemed to be angry and needed some therapy.

Bush added that they were shouting obscenities that their mothers would not have been proud of.
