Which cartoon character best resembles the average Republican?
Edited on Fri Oct-13-06 11:44 AM by Rocknrule
I'm thinking the Tazmanian devil, Cartman, and Sara from Ed Edd & Eddy. What do you think?

1. Mr. Burns from the Simpsons
He's even a Republican on the show too.

10. Frank Burns too
They are overly obsessed with hyper-patriotism while (pardon the M*A*S*H rip-off) exhibiting "a few 'isms of their own."

12. Don't forget Smithers
his deeply closeted enabler, married to the job, willing to do any nasty thing the boss tells him to do. Smithers is the typical Repug.

And no, closeted doesn't always mean gay. It means hiding some pretty serious stuff while pretending to have superior morals.

25. He got snippy with John Waters for standing him up.
...on that episode where Bart had to sit and look at a billboard of 2 hot chicks smoking, and the Steel Mill turned into a gay disco at quitting time.

Homer: Well Son, you feel like more of a man now?
Bart: No, but I think I do want a cigarette.

32. I never thought of that.
The powerful Republican and his closeted gay assistant. Funny how real life sometimes ends up mimicking fiction.

2. Cartman definately acts like a FReeper, but lately they've used him
to represent liberals.

He wanted to make sure Kenny (Teri Schaivo) was allowed to die (so he could take his XBox) and he believed that 9/11 was an inside job...

24. lol
Cartman didn't exactly have a well formed moral opinion of Schiavo like liberals did, did he?
He was never portayed as a Bible thumper, so his selfish and moronic reasoning was finely representive of right-wingers.
Also, maybe you don't realize that 9/11 CTs began largely on anti-semitic right-wing sites.
Most of the CTists in the 9/11 forum don't.

30. Yeah, it's that Archie Bunker thing.
The people that protested All in the Family didn't have the brainpower or sensitivity to context to realize that inclusion of his character wasn't an endorsement of his behavior.

was that Eric Cartman (Michael Schaivo) wanted Kenny (Teri) to be allowed to die so he could profit.

...that I'm not sure that there's any such thing as an "average Republican" any more. Today's GOP is a rapidly crumbling coalition of disparate political constituencies, many of which have little or nothing in common.

40. Judge Doom!
I bought the Red Car so I could dismantle it! I'll replace it with something called a "freeway" which will go right through Toontown! Imagine a road with no traffic, no lights, cars come on and off, off and on day and night! The sides of this freeway will be lined with diners serving cheap rapidly prepared food, tire salons, automobile dealerships, and hundreds of wonderful, wonderful billboards. MY GOD! It will be beautiful.

41. Honestly? Blondy and Dagwood.
Most 'pugs I know just don't know and don't CARE
about the state of the state or the state of the
world.

They care about their jobs, their hair appointments,
their kids, the mortgage, yada, yada, yada.

They care about "national security" in some vague
way. I alway knew they'd start paying attention
when their OWN jobs where in danger. When their
OWN houses were on the auction block, and when they
(in the case of the south) could no longer blame their
situation on the "liberal north-east".

We are just about there. People are losing their
cable TV's.....

They will prolly be waking up now.

Too late, of course...
