On "Tempting Faith":
I am fresh off of re-watching both Parts I & II of Keith Olbermann's report on the new book by http://www.simonsays.com/content/destination.cfm?tab=31&pid=512609&agid=13">David Kuo, Special Assistant to the President for his "Faith-Based Initiative". So, I decided to find out what Christian Conservatives were saying about both the book and about David Kuo.

Well, as it turns out, I found plenty of discussion going on here on http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/message_list.asp?boardID=425&discussionID=531601">Bush, http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/message_list.asp?boardID=425&discussionID=536649">the book, and http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/discussion_list.asp?boardID=425">general discussions.

Looks to me like, even though this book has not officially hit bookstores yet, there is still plenty of animosity towards the Bush Administration and Congressional leaders.

I would venture to predict that when this book goes wide, it will be the final nail in the coffin for the Republicans. But this does not mean that we can rest on our laurels. We must still fight to consolidate both the Republican failures and scandals and our work to get Dems elected everywhere.

Oh and, by the way, David Kuo is the Washington editor for http://www.beliefnet.com/">Beliefnet.com.

1. I'm surprised DU is so quiet about it...
I know it's an issue that only affects us tangentially -- it's not like our votes were pandered for and then we were betrayed, just we have to deal with the fallout from the criminals getting elected, as well as the whole issue of public funds being diverted to their perpetual political campaign (the only thing they seem to be good at.)

Anyway, I'd say DU should step up for Olbermann like we have before, except this time realize the door swings both ways. He's put several stories that were languishing on the Internet into the old media format, we should back him up and take this story, which he's obviously pushing hard, out to the blogs more strongly. Sure it gets a fundie book sales, but only from other fundies who were just going to buy some corrupt criminal's book anyway.

I think anyone with any degree of political sophistication should be able to see why he thinks it's an important story...

That's ok. Even if the book garners only fundie sales, it may have the potential to keep those votes away from the polls in November. I happen to believe that this book will transcend fundie attention and will most likely climb the bestseller list.

They will not survive this book if what KO has shown gets any worse in the reading, which I suspect it will.

3. I predict that a lot of Republicans who supported Bush and who . . .
were brainwashed into backing the BushCo agenda will simply stay home on Election Day . . . which is fine with me . . .
