Bush Is Said to Have No Plan if GOP Loses
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/061013/13bush.htm

Some Republican strategists are increasingly upset with what they consider the overconfidence of President Bush and his senior advisers about the midterm elections November 7–a concern aggravated by the president's news conference this week.

"They aren't even planning for if they lose," says a GOP insider who informally counsels the West Wing. If Democrats win control of the House, as many analysts expect, Republicans predict that Bush's final two years in office will be marked by multiple congressional investigations and gridlock.

"The Bush White House has had no relationship with Congress," said a Bush ally. "Beyond the Democrats, wait till they see how the Republicans–the ones that survive–treat them if they lose next month." GOP insiders are upset by Bush's seeming inability to come up with new ideas or fresh approaches. There is even a heightened sensitivity to the way Bush talks about advisers who served his father.

At the president's news conference on Wednesday, allies of his father complained that the president seemed dismissive of former Secretary of State James Baker, who remains close to his dad and is cochairman of a bipartisan panel studying the war in Iraq.

1. Perhaps Bu$h & Rove are depending on Die Bold
to get them over the hump.

7. strategy
Maybe Bush and Rove will make it look like they're planning some pretend strategy sessions, and then they can 'look surporised' when they've found out the Republicans have won. You know, must be God's will.

17. Sherrod Brown's got 14 points on DeW(h)ine right now
It may take more than Diebold to turn that around. Also Dems are likely to pick up the Governor's mansion as well as the Secretary of State's office in Ohio. Even if Brown gets Diebolded, we will likely have fairly clean elections in Ohio by 2008.

2. bush looks forward to the day after the next inauguration
so he can start blaming everything on his successor.

Has bush ever had a plan except to let there be a terrorist attack so he could be proclaimed war president? That worked out real well didn't it?

Oh I don't give him enough credit. He also planned to desert his military unit to avoid a drug test.

3. They gotta be kidding..
GOP insiders are upset by Bush's seeming inability to come up with new ideas or fresh approaches.

This is THE very definition of conservative, so now they're upset by it?

Excuse me whilst I

8. The bushitters only know offence, they can't play defense.
When the game is not going your way you try to negotiate a better end. Negotiation is not their strong suit. Remember that Richard Perle quote?

"If we let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely, and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy but just wage total war, our children will sing great songs about us years from now." Richard Perle

There is no room for discussion, no room for anything but total war. Can you say "one trick pony"? They never think of what to do if their plan falters.

10. Declare the winners "enemy combatants", send them to Gitmo
and declare Martial Law on the rest of us. Simple, how much planning does that take.

18. That would be just like his dim-bulb dad. I remember during the
1992 campaign. He was asked about his plans for a second term, anything in particular he thought he had to focus on and take action on. His answer? "Oh, whatever comes up." Just completely DEVOID of any ideas or proactive innovation. He was just gonna sit there and let it happen and then try to cope with whatever the fallout was.

Hmmm... where have we seen that, since? I guess apples really don't fall that far from the tree.

16. What plan COULD they have?
Blowjobs all around? The entire GOP/Dem relationship is broken. Probably irretrievably. It ain't like him saying, shucks, I'm sorry will make it all right. If he loses the house and senate, it will be full-on war, and nothing he says or does can change that.

22. That's because he's going to bail if the Democrats win
Bush, should the Democratic Party retake control of either house, or both houses, of Congress, will resign within a week of the election. He knows he's fucked, completely and utterly fucked, if the GOP loses Congress.

He'll either resign and sequester himself on the pig farm, where he'll spend his days bankrupting the companies who put him in office just like he did the three Texas oil companies who were stupid enough to hire his monkey ass; resign, sell the pig farm and move to Kennebunkport where he'll spend the next thirty years living in his mom's basement; or resign and move to a country that meets his most pressing need at this point in his life: no extradition treaty with the United States.

23. Bush will accept nothing but victory.
In his deranged little mind, he can't entertain the thought of the GOP losing control of Congress cause it would spell defeat for his agenda. This is a man that for the past 6 years (even longer really), has gotten everything he's wanted - no one tells him no. What will happen when he's finally told NO?

Massive mental breakdown. I can't wait. :D

31. Has he had a plan for ANYTHING??
He's a "wing-it" kind of guy..

He's spent an entire life winging it, and it's turned out pretty well ...for HIM..

He's always had "people" to fix things, clean up messes, smooth things out..

*² is NOT RUNNING FOR ANYTHING.. He's done and he knows it.. He will just coast for another two years and then retire to Hogwallow Texas...

His whole life , all he's ever wanted to do is kick back and let stuff happen.. if it's bad stuff, he just blames someone else..if it's good stuff, he takes full credit..

33. He's surrounded by "Yes Men"
Who tell him he'll rank amongst the greatest presidents. He believes he has a personal line to Gawd and does Gawd's work. I will find it fascinating to see what would happen if the Democrats won big next month: whether he'll have a melt-down because "Gawd betrayed him." With a Democratic House it will also be interesting to see all the neocons jump over the side and let the Presidential Idiot go down with the ship.
