There are blogs from the kids at the ammo dump explosion.

I hope that works. You can get it at stryker news.com --Davids ammo dump blog. It is pretty detailed.
His take on Fox news coverage was interesting.

We got the email from the army just last night saying the kids are all ok from this. And the army is saying do not worry if if you haven't heard from your soldier lately, cause the phones (and internet) facilities are pretty jammed.

One thing is clear, a lot of our kids are going to have videos of the explosions.

1. Feh.
"I just shake my head and begin to wonder what these people really want; freedom or Fear from an evil dictator that would kill you just for muttering disapproval of his antics."

"The kids seem to recognize us the most; since we graciously throw candy and toys to them as we drive by, not every infantryman is cold-blooded warrior."

Double feh.

2. For once good news from Iraq will get through the media filter eh?
Edited on Fri Oct-13-06 02:09 PM by kenny blankenship
They can't resist pictures, as we all know (just like colonized kids are suckers for soldiers' candy). So despite their liberal bias the news channels will all be showing these video clips of Iraqis celebrating their U.S.-granted freedoms, with a rousing display of fireworks. The GOOD NEWS will get out!

6. That is funny.
I'd guess about a third of our kids had video cameras going watching that "firewoks" display.

Those pictures are going to come out. Should be pretty amazing videos.

5. I don't know if I would trust this. Maybe it's a great blog with real
reports...but given the crack down and censoring of any info from Iraq...I would be very worried about any site like this that might "interpret" the explosions.

There's been so much silence from MSM it makes me wonder if Pentagon/Think Tanks haven't been working on some "spin" to this story. And, a good way to produce it would be to put out "reports from the kids in Iraq" with follow up photo's that are real or not...but with a spin.

Just saying.....

7. This is not from the army.
And there appears to be some people not too happy that kind of detail was allowed to be blogged, read the responses to his blog.

There is no good spin for the army there. And it surely is not political. The kid just blogged what he saw when the dump "went up". Its just an eyewitness account. There are others.

9. I think the whole blog is US psyops
The SPC doesn't know the difference between "allowed' and 'aloud' but knows how to use and spell the word 'misconstrue'?
Highly specious.

8. I agree with you KoKo but for a different reason
This persons misuse and mis-spelling of words, it's almost like it is intentional. The writer appears to have an above average volcabulary, is very discriptive and for the most part uses proper punctuation. It indicates to me that he reads too much to misuse so many common words such as "are" for "our", "there for "their", "sometime" instead of "some time", and "out side" in place of "outside" are just a few.

IOWs, at least to me, the writer comes across as too intelligent to make so many those kind of mistakes.

11. I think some here read WAY too much into things.
Thats a kid that wants to be a writer.

And his spelling and grammer are not the best, certainly, but he did try. He did over write a little. But his description is very good, detailed and well presented.

This Stryker site has been around for a long time - at least since my went over. I always thought it was censored - but it is there to give those kids a place to blow off steam.

And just to point out the obvious - this is not good recruiting material for the army, at least that. In fact, looks pretty bad.

I am looking forward to the the day they try and explain just how one 82mm mortar did all that damage.

And were supposed to trust these guys with our kids??? You see.
