Great campaign tip to avoid having yard signs stolen
My candidate kept getting her signs taken down... that was until she greased the back of each one with Crisco! They've stayed put since!

6. I'm contemplating the purchase of a paint ball gun
I hear it hurts like hell to get hit with one. I'm going to buy yellow paint capsules for the yellow bellied cowards that they are to sneak around at night and steal signs (and yes, I had 5 Kerry Edwards signs stolen from my house in 2004 in a 2 week time period).

7. Had my Kerry sign stolen once...
So on the replacement I stuck pins and needles around the edges; kept waiting to hear some blood-curtling scream in the night, but our mischievious neighborhood vandals never tried again.

My neighbor have their Harold Ford signed in the ground rather deep, and then have tied a light rope to it and secured it to a nearby tree limb. I remember their Kerry sign was stolen on at least two occasions.

8. Try really dirty used motor oil: it's hell on clothes and car interiors.
I'm just saying...

Also, there is a motion activated impact sprinkler that is sold to keep varmits such as deer away from gardens.

Small, portable, solar or battery powered electric fence systems for ponds and gardens can also be useful when attached to a metal sign frame.

12. Ours are close to the house
If someone wants to steal them then they have to come almost to the house to do it. I had my K/E sign near the street where all someone had to do was pull up and take a couple of steps to grab it, and frab it they did.
I made a police report, the woman taking the report made it clear that she didn't think it important, but, I was fucking mad and wanted it to be part of the public record.
I'm going to try the slickum anyway, should I do the metal wire or the plastic sign?
