2. David Kuo's former boss.
He's defending Bush's record with the Fundies. Tucker asked him why Bush never never addressed the pro-lifers.

9. This COULD backfire.

This could end with a push to get a real, far-right wingnut elected.

President Alan Keyes and Vice President Fred Phelps? Secretary of State James Dobson?

5. If that ? is wondering this is about . . .
Edited on Fri Oct-13-06 03:16 PM by Jack Rabbit
. . . a new book written by the aforementioned David Kuo reports that the Bush regime has been cynically using Christian fundamentalists for political gain with no real commitment to their agenda. The book says theat Karl Rove privately speaks of Christian fundamentalists in dispariging terms.

Tucker Carlson, to his credit, has dutifully reported this and appears to accept Kuo's thesis.

6. Hopefully the book will fly off the shelves... LOL
Rove to David Kuo: "Start up one of those fucking faith based things"

Someone mentioned that the book went from #350 to #18 on Amazon as of yesterday. It's still moving, and is now at #13 !!

8. If this is true it's the first thing in the past six years that
made me have any positive thoughts about rove, bush or any of them but if they laugh at the ignorant fundies, for once I agree with them. They need to come out and fess up to it publicly.

11. This really makes me angry, why is St. Vincents letting this guy defend
Bush? Why did they ever hire him in the first place?

Jim Towey Inaugurated as 16th President of Saint Vincent College

Mr. H. James Towey was inaugurated as the 16th president of Saint Vincent College today during a formal Vespers and Inauguration Ceremony in the historic Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.

Mr. Towey, who served for four years at the White House and was Assistant to the President of the United States and director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, heads the 160-year-old Catholic college of the liberal arts and sciences which is sponsored by the Benedictine monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey. ...

This was my family's church and many of them are buried at St. Vincent's cemetery. I don't approve of this Bush apologist running the place.
