still missing after being airlifted from dome (katrina)
has this been posted yet?

Bemis' prayers softened the ache in her heart, but nothing could chase away the pain of not knowing if her ailing 82-year-old mother was dead, alive or alone. Ethel Ann Herbert was airlifted from the Superdome on Aug. 31, two days after Hurricane Katrina. She has been missing ever since.

"We didn't leave her floating in water," Bemis, 60, said Tuesday. "We didn't leave her to die. We left her in the hands of the world's finest. We left her with the military."

absolutely horrific, i think if they don't find the woman's body at the morgue, there is a pretty decent chance she was removed out of state to die, i read a report that over 50 of the people removed from superdome to astrodome died in texas and are not part of katrina death count

and astrodome is just one place where the people were removed after being airlifted from the dome

1. THERE IS SIMPLY NO EXCUSE
for this to happen in America.

We have become a third world country thanks to BushCo.

2. And the Republicans try to excuse this shit.
Seeing their fellow Americans left to die. And still standing by Bush, who allowed it to go on for 5 DAYS. Harry Connick Jr. could get in to help, but not our heroic President. :patriot: I would never have thought it possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

i really think some of them are perfectly happy abt the removal and dispersal of the black population, they are overwhelmingly democratic voters

death count on the ground in new orleans is almost exactly 50/50 bet. black and white but i begin to wonder the real tally if you included all those died of delayed effects after being removed, you die of drowning in minutes, but you don't die of dehydration and exposure for days

i just want everyone accounted for and the dead properly honored, doesn't seem too much to ask
