How long can Foley hide?
Here's this creep who tries to use rehab as a cocoon to protect him from accountability. Not the first, but what happened to accountability? The rich hide in rehab and let their lawyers be "accountable".

1. I don't understand that either
If it were you or I, the authorities would come drag our detoxing asses out and throw us in jail.

2. I'm guessing Foley probably is better insured than most of us commoners.
With good health insurance, one can hide for a loooooong time. :hi:

3. A lot of the rehabs are 28 days..
That would put him out just in time for the final campaign push.

Heh!

Maybe he could go to Pennsylvania to stump for little ricky.

5. Has Anyone Taken Responsibility Yet?
Foley never said goodbye...didn't even issue a Press Release announcing his resignation...all he did was send a letter to the House clerk that said "I quit" two weeks ago and then we find out several days later he's in "rehab". I laughed the other day when some right wing shill attempted to show a picture of Foley sipping on a glass of wine as indication of his drinking problem. That wasn't his problem...it's facing music and taking responsibility for one's action. Not one word of appolgy or contrition...and that speaks volumes of not only his character, but of those who have played enabler for him.

That's the other game that goes on. This scandal has seen more people thrown under busses than a mass suicide at a Greyhound depot. Everyone is ready to pass the buck and the blame and plead ignorance to the gross corruption happening right under their nose. But since all these scum have fecal matter all over them, they can't smell at all...just blame and play victim. Or try to divert attention with a good old round of "well you did that too" or "this is a conspiracy". Anything but facing up to the truth...instead, in time, the truth catches up to them.

As far as the GOOPers, Foley can and should stay hidden for as long as possible. He's now become the face of all the coruption and hypocrisy this coven has become and his silence is surely being paid for.

One issue that may have a bearing here. Foley still has $2.8 million in his campaign fund...I'm not sure how much of this he can convert for his own use if he "retires" from politics or how much he has to give back to donors or the party. Also where did that money come from?

Foley is like an onion...the more you peel away, the more layers of corruption is exposed...and makes Repugnicans cry. The longer they refuse to accept responsibilities for their actions, they more they not only imperil their party's chances of winning in November, but of imploding from all the finger pointing and blame gaming that is surely up ahead. Schadenfraude is the only word that comes to my mind.
