David Kay: Iran Doesn't Have & Won't Have Nuclear Weapons For Long Time
Former Weapons Inspector, Experts Warn Against Military Action Toward Iran
By Dan Robinson
Capitol Hill
12 October 2006

Experts are urging the Bush administration to use patience and caution in its approach to Iran over its nuclear ambitions. The comments by former U.S. weapons inspector David Kay and others at an event on Capitol Hill Wednesday came as President Bush and other officials reiterated a call for Iran to end its uranium enrichment efforts and reach a peaceful and negotiated solution.

David Kay, who has been critical of the Bush administration's faulty pre-war intelligence on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, says Washington needs to proceed cautiously because serious questions remain about its ability to assess realities on the ground in Iran.

While the government in Tehran has established what he calls "a substantial foundation" for a nuclear weapons program, Kay asserts any serious threat is at least five years and possibly 10 or more years away.

"Iran does not today, and in my judgment will not for some time, pose a nuclear threat to the United States or the state of the region," Kay said.

1. Kay's just a measley little weapons inspector; who's going to
listen to him? They didn't in the past.

4. But David Kay was hand-picked by bush; was a total bushbot;
was totally suckered into believing all the "there is no doubt" bushit.

Kay is the bushbot who kept insisting "we'll find them!"

Kay was bush's first weapons inspector who said "gee there isn't any wmd whatsoever in Iraq and hasn't been for over a decade and wow did bush ever lie his ass off over his so-called 'darn good intelligence'".

And having been so totally duped and conned and used (like freepers, only Kay was intelligent enough to finally figure it out, unlike freepers) Kay is a wee bit doubtful of taking bush at his word now.

5. This regime has no allegiance to anyone if they don't conform
to what the regime wants said. Kay might have figured that out, too.

7. He's turned, big time. I saw him on a documentary about
the struggle between Tenet and Cheney/Rumsfeld, and he was singing like a canary. I think Frontline ran it about two weeks ago.
