NK tells UN we're thaaaat close to declaring war on them |
|
and their ambassador walks out after our very own gentle John Bolton does a little tough talk and swagger for the benefit of the world. Anyone else watching this debate in the UN? Being carried on CNN & MSNBC.

2. NK makes that kind of talk all the time. |
|
I have been seeing bellicose statements from them in the news for decades. Kim isn't about to do anything. He knows that he starts a war his military will get folded, spindled, and mutilated (for those who remember that phrase.)
And we aren't going to invade them either.
The only danger from Kim is if he sells military hardware to terrorists, and from his counterfeiting. NK makes some very high quality bogus bills.

4. Well like someone pointed out on another thread, |
|
Kim is in a position right now where a million of his people dead, is a million less mouths to feed.

5. Fucking hilarious how people think they don't have a legitimate gripe |
|
If memory serves me, I recall Saddam Hussein saying the same thing. He was right about the invasion.

7. With Hussein, there was no wider collateral damage. |
|
Kuwait didn't suffer markedly, neither did Iran or Syria.
If we attack N. Korea, S. Korea suffers markedly, by any reasonable (and many unreasonable) standards.
Apart from a strike launched from a carrier in international waters, or by long distance bombing from a base like Guam, we would need to get S. Korea's (or Japan's) permission. I'm sure that launching an attack from their territory that could provoke war would be a violation of the treaties allowing us to be there.
