To hell with Programming and Web Design. I found my new career!
I want to be a Creation Scientist!

Look at what passes for "Creation Science" now:

Creatures that Defy Evolution

Glow Bugs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSHKL62kXhI

This segment argues that since scientists have yet to replicate the kind of lights that glow-worms emit, then it must be evidence that Evolution is a sham and this is part of God's design.

Best quote: "The scientists don't have the foggiest idea how they send a signal to say 'ok, turn on the light', and they all turn on"

"Our God, is Amazing! The things that He has thought up, and He started with nothing!"

Bees - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmY85uoVEEA

Since bees assist in making vanilla, this must be evidence of creation or intelligent design, and thus disproves evolution.

Best quote : "God made a little bee that knows exactly what to do so we can have vanilla"

So, here's what I am thinking. I don't need any more formal training to become a creation scientist, or a professional evolution debunker.

All I have to do is explain things to people who have little or no understanding or critical thinking skills, and do it in such a way to convince them that its part of God's plan.

And I don't even need to use reason or logic.

Best part is, I don't have to offer my theories to the scrutiny of the scientific community, since I know in my heart that they are Godless atheists.

1. lol, those creationist "scientists" are a laugh RIOT
Edited on Sat Oct-14-06 04:40 PM by WindRavenX
I directly challanged one of these asshats why he is so intellectually lazy regarding understanding modern biology, as he claimed scientists (much like your creationist claimed) do not understand how genes are "turned on/off". If he knew anything about biology (which he clearly does not), we call gene expression "gene expression regulation".
I gave him a detailed example of how we know on a molecular level how gene expression is regulated in the classic, but simple, example of the LAC operon in E.coli. Basically, it's a waste for an organism to always produce an enzyme needed for the breakdown of lactose when there is no lactose. But when lactose IS present--boom! The gene is turned on and the enzyme is produced.

Regulation of gene expression= teh rock.

pps, creationists can kiss my ass.

3. that's why I want to be one so badly now
they don't have to back up what they say or prove any claims. All they have to do is point to the Bible.

9. I got in a similar debate last month

And this dipstick is the leader of a group that is pushing John Edwards at the DNC.

SHE EMPHATICALLY professed that evolution was BS.

When I tried to discuss and provide links to various science URL's she just LOL'd and disregarded it all together. She also happens to be religious. That would explain PART of it but the fact she works for a doctor (or claims to) and HATES most doctors would explain the other part.

REgardless it's soured me on John Edwards groupies. I know it's not his fault but if people that are lemmings of his group are that backwards thinking it scares me having them running the country.
then again I'm a Clark Groupie! :-)

If you can stomach the people you'd have to work with, go for it. If nothing else it might be a fun job to have.

6. I've had the occasional fantasy about becoming a...
...creation scientist, taking the ID world by storm with my 'revolutionary' theories, writing bestselling books, being invited to the White House, securing tenure at some BS university or other, and then revealing that everything I'd said and written was a load of crap. Then I realize how much work that would be and just take another puff.

10. Let me get this straight
The bees set about deliberately to make vanilla. Maybe they're members of The Pollinators and Flavoring Producers Union and that's how they make a living.

15. its not just a coincidence that the product of their activity is vanilla
it is their divine purpose. To make tasty treats for humans.

Of course, what about bugs that don't make tasty vanilla or honey for humans? What is their purpose?

40. Mosquitos are here
because of the great mosquito god. Humans were created by the mosquito god to nourish mosquito young'uns so that they could be born to feed other animals. All this talk about a god for humans is plain blasphemous to the mosquito god. So roll up your sleeves, for the blood you shed will save millions of unborn mosquito larvae. :sarcasm:

Their function is to light up the forest. See the first film.

BTW, I love in that one where the guy marvels that all the bugs on a tree fire at once. If you watch, it simply isn't true. It starts in one part of the tree and quickly spreads upward. Seems to me they can see each other fire.

13. Better yet - here's a thought
ComerPerro SCHOOL of Creation Science!

Use your web and programming skills. Set up an online school, write some shitty curricula, sell it, have some on-line testing, and bam, when your "students" finish the on-line school they can download their very own Creation Scientist diploma! I think a Paypal cart would handle everything but you may want to use somethig of your own design.
